Use this Viz to explore the BBA draft from 1997 - 2061. Use the filters on the right to select ranges of years, teams, positions, etc. Clicking on teams in the Sankey below will also you to explore the data.

Eventually I will break this down even further, I really want to College / HS teams and see what schools produce the most BBA talent and even show what franchise have drafted the most from a particular school. All when I have some more spare time. But in the meantime, enjoy this version.

One thing I did notice is that when you look from the totals from 1997-2061 there is a large gap between number of HS players drafted vs College. When you start to move the slider to the more current decade or so of drafts, that discprency shrinks quite a bit. Check it out!

I used tableau in my first job and never really got it. Might have to google some tips for breaking this down because it’s a super useful dataset! I liked filtering it down to the years I’ve been in the league.

This is rad! Love the different options for modifying the graphic.

Funny that I complain about never having one yet I've only ever drafted two shortstops, and Serrano was technically a 2B when I drafted him.

This is super cool. Would love to be able to dive into rounds in the draft, like what positions did I take in the first or the first through the tenth (most of the time it's autopick after that)

I should be able to add another filter for rounds also….

@shoeless.db - it now has a Draft Round Filter

Hmm i may need to reset the filters….cant click on a team on viz now….ill do after Valentine’s Day stuff with the mrs.
