The Walkoff Watch 2058: Sims 8 & 9

I find your lack of faith in my 2-seam fastball disturbing…

Wow! The derps keep rolling in. And what is it with the wild pitch? Derps these days not happy just walking a guy. Saves on pitch count we suppose. More Silver Atlas contenders joining what’s becoming a pack at the top. And someone in Portland decided to close the gap on Madison’s Wesley Turner by giving up a couple in the last two days.

The Walkoff Watch Terminology

balkoff When a pitcher balks in the winning run.
derpoff When a pitcher walks in the winning run, hits a batter with the bases full, or the winning run scores due to a wild pitch or error.
200-proof walkoff When the home team scores in the bottom of a previous inning to extend the game and then scores with a walkoff in a subsequent inning.
pimpoff When the home team scores a walkoff following the visiting team tying the game to cause extra innings (or more extra innings) or scoring what would have been the winning run if the home team hadn’t responded.

April Team and Player Highlights
- First off, the records in 1-run affairs are still looking wild with Sacramento now 11-3 on the year, Bikini 4-14, Madison 5-12, and Nashville fairing well at 15-6.
- Charlotte (2-4) and Portland (0-8) got into 4 walkoffs each. Charlotte split the four while Portland is aiming for some kind of record. We’re sure it’s happened in the long history of The Watch but starting the season 0-8 is impressive, Lumberjacks!
- Twin Cities (4-3) and San Fernando (1-4) each took part in 3 wild finishes with the former winning their set 2-1.
- Calgary (6-3) and Nashville (3-2) went a nice 2-0 in their walkoffs, with Montreal (6-2) and Yellow Springs (1-4) splitting theirs.
- Boise (4-6) did not fair so well in their 2 walkoff losses.
- A couple of players are making the Silver Atlas chase fun with Calgary’s Sam Butler and Montreal’s António López snagging their second heroics of the season.
- On the Goat side, Portland’s Renato Lacerdo determined he was not going to let Madison’s Wesley Turner run away with the silverware so he gave up 2 walkoffs to take 2nd place in the early goings.
