Since we're talking batted balls, I thought it might be valuable to remind folks about OOTP pitchers' GB/FB rating: http://montybrewster.net/forums/viewtop ... 72#p258472

Having an above-average defense hasn't helped the way I'd hoped for. Still can't seem to figure out how to construct a team around here to save my life.

HUGE improvement has to be finally getting McNeill and Walton on the field together for an extended period.

End of 2058 ... the depth of Brooklyn's difficulty seems to have warped the middle.

What’s weird is I don’t feel my team is all that great defensively other than CF and C. Everyone else is very average.

Clearly the infield is better than that. Issam was +8.4 ZR and Vera +4.1.

I guess I was going off of more average (for me anyway) concerning their ratings. Isam’s range fell to nine (still good), but Vera is a 5 range.

I’ve just had much better fielding teams that were never this high up the rankings. General fall in defense overall, I suppose.

We’re aging, so it won’t be long for me to fall way back as I don’t have the guys in the minors to fill shoes.

I’d like to take credit for that wily dad pun, but it was purely accidental.

I went back at looked at last year’s data. My team defense was actually quite a bit better this year. I’m not sure why my OF defense, specifically flyballs, dropped off so much through the season though.
