This is what his official scouting report has to say:
This seems about right. While subsequent scouting reports have revised his future value downward, he remains a high-floor prospect who should round into an everyday starter in short order. He needs to, seeing as how he's entering his age 25 season. Futon's batting ratings and statistical splits suggest that he could start against both right-handed and left-handed pitching, which is nice to have in a left-handed bat.[Futon] runs well and agressively. He has the potential to be a .290 hitter. He has decent power now and has the hcance to have aboce average power in the future. Futon is a reliable hitter in the organization's grand scheme.
Futon had good numbers in AAA last season, where he slashed .302/.362/.432. He spent most of September with the big club, and took a while to ramp up to BBA pitching, but he made steady progress adjusting to the new setting, finishing the month with a .261/.320/.391 slash line. Eventually, he should be able to supplant Frenchman André Ly in right field. It all depends on the pace of Futon's progress and Ly's decline.
The most recent scout evaluation has Futon's future value set at 55 with potential ratings of 8/6/6, ranking him at #97. Current ratings are 8/7/6/6/8 and look to be in line with his ceiling. While he doesn't quite have the pop you look for in a corner outfielder, the power is a tick above average. He has good speed and looks to be capable of swiping 20 bags in a full season of work. The defense is pretty unremarkable, with a 6 Range and 7 Error rating, though he does have the arm strength to play in right, with an Outfield Arm of 9. He is rated as Durable, and hasn't suffered any significant injuries, and no injuries of any kind since 2052. He looks capable of giving Omaha some quality innings, though all-star appearances don't appear to be in his future.
