Enjoyed reading and spot on analysis of my pick with Jardine. Feel like his high work ethic and overall game gives him a touch higher of a ceiling than others picked around him.
Funny - I would have said it gives him a higher floor. His best ceiling attribute is that he's 16.
Prospect development is a result of age, ratings potential, coaching/intangibles, and randomness. That list ranked in approximately descending order IMO. So age is a pretty big deal.
Plus, I'm a sucker for 7 potential power from a guy who can play in the middle of the field.

From a guy who drafted a catcher with pop, I approve of this message.

I’m not sure if it’s because of the additions to the game or if it’s because of the league, but I used to be the same way. In one of my former leagues I had a catcher who was an elite offensive catcher, but didn’t have much ability defensively and I was able to win consistently with him and had solid pitching. I never realized how much a solid glove guy behind home plate could help the until I had
Hollis 'Duck' O'Hara at the catcher position.

Glad to have this gem of a feature back Aaron. My line of thinking was to get the best player available, and going with a more “finished” article was a bonus.

Extremely comprehensive and either verified some things I had considered myself on certain players or opened up ideas I hadn't considered.
I can't speak for anyone else but my reason for not drafting Wilkinson at 15 was that you can basically open OOTP in any league, any version, and find one who hits well. Didn't want to spend draft capital on that so early. might have if I was in the 20s though.
Generally agree on Abernathy, who is a bit of a risk but i couldn't let the power potential go.

Same. Though this league being so defense heavy has tempered that a lot for me.

Might have been stupid of me but I passed on the catcher taken after my pick because I liked the one ai drafted last year. Shouldn't do that in baseball. we'll see if it burns me.
