We at The Watch have our own odds on who comes out on top...

Welcome to the 21st version* of The Walkoff Watch. We usually wait a bit to let everyone get settled so here we are with Sims 1 & 2 of 2051. We got a healthy amount of action to munch on, including one player sprinting out to the lead in the Silver Atlas chase, so let’s get to it!

*Not in a row…sheesh…

The Walkoff Watch Terminology

balkoff When a pitcher balks in the winning run.
derpoff When a pitcher walks in the winning run, hits a batter with the bases full, or the winning run scores due to a wild pitch or error.
200-proof walkoff When the home team scores in the bottom of a previous inning to extend the game and then scores with a walkoff in a subsequent inning.
pimpoff When the home team scores a walkoff following the visiting team tying the game to cause extra innings (or more extra innings) or scoring what would have been the winning run if the home team hadn’t responded.

Sim #1 & 2 Team and Player Highlights
- This was not a walkoff but we have to highlight the April 5th game between New Orleans and Phoenix. Tied at 1-1, New Orleans scored 2 in the 7th for a 3-1 lead. Phoenix responded with 2 in the bottom of the frame. They went into extras knotted at 3 and the Crawdads got a good start with 2 runs in the top of the 10th, but the Talons responded with 2 runs and it was 5-5. Ok, said New Orleans, as they added a run in the top of the 11th. Phoenix wasn’t thru playing and tacked on another to again tie the game. New Orleans sought to put away the Talons with 2 runs in the 12th and Phoenix could only manage 1 and thus the Crawdads posted an 8-7 win in a wild 12-inning affair
- Atlantic City got in 3 walkoff tiffs coming away 1-2
- Multiple teams saw 2 walkoffs with Calgary, Nashville, & New Orleans sweeping theirs. Charlotte, Portland, Sacramento, and San Fernando all split their pair. And Edmonton, Montreal, and Twin Cities went 0-2
- Nashville’s Théo Bourges jumped ahead of the hero pack with 2 walkoffs to start the year

Great job, love these takes. Keep 'em coming!

Minor nitpick: Hong's walkoff for CHI on April 7 was a single, not a sac fly. (And truthfully the baserunner Colason should get partial credit, scoring from second with a play at the plate in the bottom of the 13th).

Corrected, sir, and thank you! We at The Watch are nothing if not as accurate as possible.
