SmackDowns of the Sim - Sim 25

Post by 7teen » Thu Feb 03, 2022 8:57 am

September 15
Valencia 15 - Seattle 2
Seattle's 6th Smackdown loss drops them to the worst in the league this season while the Stars' 5th win ties them for the most in the BBA. Pedro Gomez had 4 hits for the Stars which included a pair of homeruns. The final homerun coming in a 4-run 9th inning that gave the Stars the chance to record the SmackDown win. Guzman led the way with 3 runs scored and 4 RBI in the game. Sato and Mateo joined Gomez with 4 hits in the game, a game that saw Valencia tally 20 total base hits.

El Paso 15 - Mexico City 5
Up 11-5 heading to the 8th inning, the Chilis score 4 runs in the 8th led by Hector Cano, Jr's 33rd homerun of the season, a 3 run shot. Cano had a pair of hits and a team high 4 RBI. Mbaya joined him with 4 RBI. He also had a 3-run homerun and led the way with 3 hits. Chenowith joined him with 3 hits and also hit a homerun in the win, his 40th. El Paso hit 4 homeruns in the contest.

Rockville 13 - New Orleans 0
Both teams battling it out for a spot in the post-season, Rockville gets the upper hand in this one even though NO holds a 1 game lead on this day for a WC spot. Rockville also regains the league lead in Smackdown wins with their 6th of the season, though I'm sure they'd trade that title for a spot in the post-season. Julio Barajas had himself a day, going 4 for 4 with 4 runs scored, 4 RBI, 2 singles, and 2 doubles in the contest. Those were 2 of the 6 doubles the Pikemen hit in the game.

September 20
Louisville 13 - Madison 1
Another pivotal game between two teams fighting it out for the post-season, and again, the team doing the chasing is the one that lays the Smackdown win. This game in particular trimmed the WC deficit between Louisville and Madison to two games in the standings. The Sluggers scored in 7 of their 9 at-bats in the contest, but it was a 6-run 4th inning effort that did the damage. Theo Bourges was the start of the game, tallying 3 hits and falling a double shy of the cycle. He had 3 RBI, but it was Moon with 4 RBI that led the way for the Sluggers.

There's no doubt that if El Paso is built right their offense will be fire in that park.
