In the second game of a double header, Mexico City again came out on top versus El Paso.

Play of the game, broadcast transcript. Fredo Torres, play-by-play announcer, with commentary by Bob Burke. Top of the seventh inning. Mexico City leading 9-3.

[start]

Fredo: And up comes Fernando Moreno. Sitting on hit number one-thousand nine-hundred and ninety-nine. Reached on an error in the first, flew out in the second, singled in the fourth, and walked in the sixth.

Bob: No real pressure on Sackett here, his team down six.

Fredo: Sackett looks in and the first pitch is fouled off by Moreno. No balls and a strike. Moreno is hitting .343 this year, the best average of his career if it holds.

Bob: Moreno looks locked in right now, he didn't miss that one by much.

Fredo: The 0-1. Down and in, called a strike. That one just got the corner. Nothing and two.

Bob: Good pitch.

Fredo: Normore on deck. He's got a couple hits today. This Mexico City team hitting .287 as a collective, Bob. Why aren't they scoring more runs?

Bob: Well, it takes timely hitting to produce runs, and the Aztecs have either been unlucky, or unclutch in that regard. If they can put things together here later in the season, look out, because we know they can pitch very well, though you'd like to see them maybe add another quality bullpen arm for the stretch run.

Fredo: It looks like they are indeed putting things together. Eleven and one so far in August. And the 0-2 pitch by Sackett. Fouled off by Moreno.

Bob: Moreno battling here. That's two pitches he hasn't missed by much at all.

Fredo: Announced attendance of 36,823 today. El Paso drawing pretty good crowds this year, all things considered.

Bob: About half of them are Aztecs fans tonight. Mexico City has a big following here on the border. And they want to see number two-thousand right here.

Fredo: Sackett deals. And that ball is hit hard toward the shortstop, and it's over Ochoa's head! Everybody is safe and Fernando Moreno has career hit number two-thousand!
