San Fernando 20 - Hawaii 1
We are hitting it right out of the gate with our worst SmackDown of the year. Tyler Ober had one of those games individually though that a player never forgets. Ober hit a 3 run homerun in the 3rd innning, then followed that up with a grand slam in the 5th inning. He added a single, to finish wth 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 3 runs scored, and 8 runs batted in. Reggie Vargas wasn't to be outdone by much though, tallying 4 hits inlcuding a homerun, and driving in 4 RBI. Custello matched Vargas' RBI with 4 of his own. Those 3 alone combined for 16 RBI. Hawaii was down 11-0 after 2.5 innings and 16-1 after 5. This one was never in doubt of being on the feature. For the Bears, this was their league leading 7th SmackDown game of the season. It was Hawaii's 3rd loss, making it easy to realize how a team can be 5 games over .500 despite having a run differential of NEGATIVE 67!

Back to back sims for the Pioneers picking up a SmackDown win. San Antonio led 1-0 heading to bottom of the 4th, but the middle innings is where Calgary did their damage. They scored all 14 runs in the 4th-7th innings, including a 7-spot in the 5th inning. The runs included 5 homeruns including a pair hit by Alfonso Trinidad. Trinidad had 3 RBI while Scott Bell had 4, including 2 that came off a homerun in the 7th inning.
