Re: Vic Caleca Award for Best Pitching Staff
August 2047 Caleca Standings
After putting together an incredibly consistent season, with only 1 month outside the top 4 (and that was a lowly 7th place finish), the commish @recte44 claims his first ever Caleca award by a comfortable margin. The teams behind the Hustlers were somewhat of a surprise given their seasons to date, as the runner up spot belonged to the Portland Lumberjacks, who have some promising young arms that GM Chris Wilson has developed over the last few years.

Loving Custello and hope he can keep this up long term. I’ve been excited for him since acquiring him. Re: Vic Caleca Award for Best Pitching Staff
September/October 2047 Caleca Standings
To wrap up the season, we have another new monthly Caleca winner, as the Hawaii Tropics and @Jwalk100 bring it back to the Pacific Division. The only real surprise is that they hadn't won one before now, but it is true. Some other surprises (based on season performance) further down the list were Rockville at #9, Seattle at #10 (had been 22 or lower all season) and Brooklyn at #16 (first time higher than 28th). A massive disappointment was Portland, as the Lumberjacks fell from 2nd in August all the way down to 31st to wrap up the season.

Re: Vic Caleca Award for Best Pitching Staff
2047 SEASON CALECA STANDINGS
To those that have followed this season closely, it is no surprise that @recte44 and the Las Vegas Hustlers take the 2047 Caleca title. Two different monthly wins as well as only 1 month below 5th (and that was a measly 7th) is a great way to cruise to the title. Also interesting to note that the top 2 teams here were also the winners of their respective leagues this season.
One minor note is that the Vegas number is relatively in line with the winning Charm City number from last year, as the Jimmies had a 4.97 differential vs 4.81 for the Hustlers.
Breakdown of playoff team placing below, yes all 6 of the Frick playoff teams fell between 2nd and 7th in the season long ranks, and the top 2 JL teams were the division winners.
1. Las Vegas
2. Omaha
3. Chicago
4. Hawaii
5. Louisville
6. Sacramento
7. Yellow Springs
9. Charlotte
16. Jacksonville
17. Rockville

Re: Vic Caleca Award for Best Pitching Staff
I'm thinking I deserve a special Caleca for earning a playoff berth despite atrocious pitching.usnspecialist wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 12:02 pmBreakdown of playoff team placing below, yes all 6 of the Frontier playoff teams fell between 2nd and 7th in the season long ranks, and the top 2 JL teams were the division winners.

Ironically rockville also made the playoffs out of the 26 spot last year (although in that case the next worst playoff team was 16th).tylertoo wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 12:21 pmI'm thinking I deserve a special Caleca for earning a playoff berth despite atrocious pitching.usnspecialist wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 12:02 pmBreakdown of playoff team placing below, yes all 6 of the Frontier playoff teams fell between 2nd and 7th in the season long ranks, and the top 2 JL teams were the division winners.

Keeping up with these spreadsheets is a bitch, especially if you fall behind (which I do semi frequently thanks to work settings. That is why I have shifted more focus to historical databases, much easier to maintain lol. I did enjoy this one while it lasted though.
