1B
Finally, the other corner. First base is usually thought of as another power hitting position by there some players that man this bag that can also catch the ball.
Top 10 1B:
Bottom 10 1B:
Maybe these guys should just DH..........

Benevidez hasn't been hitting well, but at least he can field the hot corner. That's still a step up from last year!

Re: Defensive Runs Saved
I think you miss a lot of guys that arent necessarily playing their "primary" position. For example, Bob Irwin has played 71 games at 1B this season, and only 3 at 2B though he is listed as a 2B. He's got a range of 8.09, a ZR pf +1.4 and Eff of 1.044. Surely, he should show up somewhere in the top 10.

Irwin is #22 on the list.GoldenOne wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 6:53 pmI think you miss a lot of guys that arent necessarily playing their "primary" position. These have made me feel differently about some fielders. Their range may be bad but they make up those deficiencies with their other attributes ie error or arm. These are small sample sizes and will start to stabilize once we get more games in the books.

Re: Defensive Runs Saved
I feel like the general ordering of these makes sense, but I do have some questions about the magnitude. It's odd to see a guy like Augie Plascencia with -7 DRS at 1B in something like 15 games. That's almost impossibly bad. Or Dashiell Fairborn at + 30 on a pace for something like + 90 over a 162 games season. Considering the MLB leader in 2019 had 34, it just seems like something's not adding up right. Possibly. Or maybe our crazy defensive ratings and large range of quality of fielders is giving us bonkers outcomes. Not trying to poop on jwalk's work. I have no idea how to go about calculating this. Just curious is all.

I think it is because there are just five zones. It won't be as accurate.Ted wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 8:16 pmI feel like the general ordering of these makes sense, but I do have some questions about the magnitude. Re: Defensive Runs Saved
Second has been weird for me all season but I thought Puente would have more impact on runs saved. No doubt Nethersole is king wherever he is though.
