2043 FUBARs of the Sim - Sim 7

Post by 7teen » Tue Jun 30, 2020 8:57 am

May 12
Twin Cities 11 - Seattle 1
A late surge of runs by the River Monsters made this a FUBAR win, though Seattle didn't exactly help itself much by scoring just 1 run on 2 hits. Ramon Gabriel's 3 run homerun in the 6th inning got the barrage of runs going for Twin Cities. Gabriel ended the game with 4 RBI. Long Chamberlain added a pair of RBI thanks to 3 base hits. Each member of the River Monsters had a hit in this one. Gordon Graves did his team in on the mound. Graves surrendered 6 runs on 7 hits in 1.1 innings of work. He was hurt slightly by errors as only 4 of the 6 runs were earned.

Atlantic City 10 - Charlotte 0
The Gamblers pounded 4 homeruns, all of which came in the first 5 innings, as they cruised to a simple FUBAR victory. Antonio Martinez had 2 of those homeruns, going 2-4 with 2 runs scored and 3 Runs batted in. Illingworth added one in the 4th inning as one of his two hits in the contest. Keijo Reini, the first pick in the expansion draft, allowed 3 of the 4 homeruns. Reini allowed 7 runs on 7 hits in 4.1 innings pitched.

New Orleans 12 - Montreal 2
This was a tight game up until the 7th inning. The Crawdads were clinging to a 2-0 lead as the game went to the bottom of the 7th inning. That's the inning that Mario Barrera hit a 3 run homerun as a part of a 4 run inning to push it to 6-0. After Montreal scored in the top of the 8th, New Orleans responded with 6 in the 8th off of Jesus Lopez. Roelof Klooster had the best night for the Crawdads, going a perfect 4-4 at the dish with 3 runs and 4 RBI. He had a homerun and a pair of doubles.

Madison 17 - Des Moines 4
Leading 10-4 going to the 9th inning, things looked good for Madison for the win. But then it turned ugly for the Kernels. Natanael Barral and Ross Quicker each homered in the 9th inning, an inning that would see the Wolves dent home plate 7 times. Barral ended the game with 3 homeruns, 3 runs scored, and 5 runs batted in. Quicker added a pair of long balls and 4 runs batted in. In total, the Wolves pounded 17 hits which included 6 homeruns. Jose Castro failed to get an out on the mound for Des Moines before being pulled after allowing 5 runs on 3 walks and 2 hits.

Mexico City 13 - Wichita 1
Fans rained boos down on Sergio Rojas as he walked off the mound in the 9th inning in Wichita. Trailing 8-1 going to the 9th, the game was over anyway. But Rojas made it a FUBAR loss by allowing 3 runs in the inning to make it 11-1. Abe Colbert didn't help matters by adding two more runs to the ledger. Hsin Mei had 4 of the 14 hits for the Aztecs. Mei homered and added 3 runs and 3 RBI. Juan Rocha homered as well, going 3-4 with 3 runs and 3 RBI.

Edmonton 11 - Boise 0
Jose Salas provided most of the damage for the Jackrabbits. Salas had a pair of homeruns which included a grand slam in the 4th inning. An inning that saw Edmonton score 7 times. Salas ended the game with 5 RBI. Edmonton would hit 3 homeruns in that 4th inning all of which came off Julio Alicea who allowed 7 runs on 8 hits in 3.2 innings of work. Rainer Scheffer added a homerun for Edmonton as well, finishing the night 2-4 with 2 runs and 3 RBI.

Seattle 12 - Long Beach 2
Will Long Beach ever win one of these? Probably not. Seattle outhit Long Beach 15 to 3 in this one. Five guys for Seattle had multiple hits in this one, led by Edward Leialoha's 4. Edward also scored a run and drove in 2. Aires Penheranda added 3 hits in the game while scoring and driving in a pair. Seattle surprisingly did not hit a homerun in this game nor did Long Beach turn to a position player to pitch.

Well, we made it to Sim 7 before showing up on this list, one way or another. I'll take that.
