F.U.B.A.Rs of the Sim - Sim 25

Post by 7teen » Sat May 16, 2020 9:02 am

September 15
Yellow Springs 13 - Twin Cities 2
A battle of undefeated FUBAR teams as the 7-0, now 8-0 Yellow Springs Nine prevent Twin Cities from a perfect 10-0 record by giving them their first FUBAR loss of the season. Up 8-2 heading to the 7th inning, Blaine Tyler hit a 2-run homer to put the Nine up 10-2. But it was Jose Machado's bases loaded double in the 8th inning, a 3 run inning by the Nine, that gave YS the FUBAR win over their division counterpart. Chris Kelly got the loss after allowing 6 runs on 6 hits in 2 innings but it was Wen Huang's 4 runs over 2 innings that gave Twin Cities, now 9-1, their first FUBAR defeat.

September 16
Omaha 14 - Des Moines 2
Another Heartland beatdown as the Hawks score 8 in the 5th but it was the 5 in the 8th that made it a FUBAR win. Omaha belted 4 homeruns in the 5th inning, highlighted by Brett White's 3 run shot. Yong hit his 34th of the season in the 5th as Schafer added his 32nd of the year. Jose Rivera allowed 2 of the homeruns and allowed 5 runs over 4.1 innings for the loss. Justino Curva allowed the other two bombs, lasing just .2 innings before giving up 4 runs of his own on 5 hits.

Vancouver 15 - San Fernando 2
We'll stay in the Frick, this time the Pacific as the Bears fall to 5-5 in their 10 FUBAR games. Alejandro Ortiz hit a 3 run homer in the 2nd inning and was part of the 8 runs scored by the Mounties in the frame. Noboru added a solo shot, his 10th of the season, in the 2nd inning as well. Jeffrey SMith's 3 run shot in the 8th however is what pushed this one into FUBAR territory. Vancouver scored 6 runs over the last two innings with 4 of those coming off of Clinton Womack and the final two off of Tim Martinez.

Rockville 13 - Charlotte 2
Last day of the sim and we finally highlight a Johnson FUBAR as the Cougars fall to 0-7 and the Pikemen get it back to .500 in these games. Rockville didn't have a homerun, but had 4 doubles, the big one coming off the bat of Matthew Reilly who's 2 out, bases loaded double scored 2 runs in the 7th inning and made this into a FUBAR game. Reilly was in as a pinch hitter at the time and contributed greatly to the cause. Wilson Alomar and Pedro Diaz added 3 hits apiece in the game with Alomar driving in a pair of RBI. Sean Gardner's ERA rose to 6.67 in relief after allowing 6 runs on 6 hits and a walk in 3.1 innings pitched.

Cougars held out from being really showing up on this list for a long time. Seeming to happen a little more frequently as we head into the last days of the season.

Played out a lot like Portland. I think we were 0-1 at the break.

I think we’ve moved to the mean now. The first half was an anomaly. Our pitching was too bad to stay 0-1.
