Phoenix 22 - Atlantic City 4
The first day of our sim had some real ass-kickings... Phoenix starts our day off with a FUBAR win. The game wasn't in FUBAR territory until the Talons added 9 runs in the 9th inning. Pankratz Isekenmeir went 2-5 with 5 RBI which included a grand slam in the 9th inning. But that wasn't the main story. Instead it was the 3 homeruns hit by Manuel Martinez that gave him 6 RBI in the game. Voitto Stromberg hit a pair of bombs himself along with 5 WALKS! Atlantic City only used 4 pitchers in the game, but three of the four allowed at least 6 runs each!
Mexico City 20 - Charlotte 0
The Cougars said in the last FUBAR that they hoped to win one this season and not lose another one. Well, the latter won't come true as they fall to 0-3 with the loss. Anastasio Lopez hit a grand slam in the 5th inning which accounted for four of the Aztecs 9 runs in the inning. It was Lopez's only hit in 7 at-bats. Manny Callazo had 5 hits in the game, all singles, and had an RBI and scored 3 runs. Sean Gardner allowed 8 runs over 4.2 innings to start. Paul Jones came in and allowed 4 more runs in the 5th without recording an out before he left the game. Charlotte used 3 position players on the mound in the loss, including Larry Blake who allowed 4 runs on 2 hits and 2 walks and now has an ERA of 108.00!!!
Edmonton 17 - Jacksonville 6
That sound you hear is the Hurricanes rapidly gaining ground on the Surfers for the worst FUBAR record. Edmonton had 22 hits but needed 3 runs in the 9th inning to make this a FUBAR win. Jose Salas led the charge for the Jackrabbits, going 4 for 5 with with 5 runs scored, 2 RBI, and a pair of walks. Wilson Villanueva reached base 5 times in the game via 2 hits and 3 walks. He scored 2 and drove in 2. No position players pitched in this one, but Ibrahim and Montalvo combined to allow 12 runs on 14 hits and 5 walks in the first 3.2 innings pitched.
Nashville 12 - California 1
The worst kind of FUBARs are Heartland over Pacific ones. J.J. McQuade hit his 5th homer of the season. It was his only hit. Jerome Delage hit his 3rd of the season, going 2-4 and leading the team with 3 RBI. Ata, Mendez, and Frost each added a pair of RBI for the Bluebirds. Manuel Andres allowed 8 runs on 7 hits in 3.2 innings of work while Pearce surrendered 4 runs on 4 hits in 2.1. They combined to walk 6 however. California only had to use 3 pitchers in the FUBAR defeat.
