F.U.B.A.Rs of the Sim - Sim 13

June 23
Vancouver 11 - Long Beach 0
Let's all welcome Vancouver to the feature!!!! Vancouver picks up their first FUBAR decision and of course it would come against the Surfers who now fall to a dreadful 0-8 on the season in FUBAR contests. That sound you hear is Nashville wondering when they play Long Beach so they can make an appearance in the feature! Angel Gonzalez went 4-4 in the game with 4 runs scored and 3 Runs Batted In thanks to a pair of homeruns. Masaki Sato added a long ball of his own in the win. Two of the three homeruns came in the 8th inning off of Diogo Lindt. The 3 runs in the 8th allowed by Lindt put this one into the FUBAR category.

California 11 - Valencia 1
More Pacific on Pacific crime here as the Crusaders FUBAR the Stars. Po-sin Chi hit a grand slam in the 4th inning. It was Chi's only hit of the game and contributed to a 5-run 4th inning by California. But the Crusaders needed 2 in the 8th and 2 more in the 9th to get the FUBAR win. Peter Dickerson allowed 3 of the 4 late runs but it was Donald Harris' 7 runs allowed in the first 3.1 innings that did Valencia in. David Simpson hit his 21st homerun of the season in the 9th as well to help secure the FUBAR win.

June 24
Boise 17 - Las Vegas 1
There are a lot of big numbers on the Boise box score in this one. Let's focus on all the 3s. Four guys had at least 3 hits for the Spuds. Three guys had 3 RBI (Felix Roman had 4). Dennis French hit homerun number 33 as well. Dean Rackham allowed 5 runs on 6 hits in 2 innings of work for Vegas, then Santiago Serrano came in and allowed 7 more on 4 hits and 6 walks in just 1 inning. Yes, Vegas allowed this guy to throw 57 pitches in 1 inning and walk 4 batters!! Boise scored 8 times in the 3rd and then 6 more times in the 4th. It was 14-1 after 4 innings in Idaho and the fans loved every minute of it.

June 25
Brooklyn 20 - Atlantic City 2
The top 2 FUBAR teams of the JL Atlantic squared off in this one and it went well for the Robins. Brooklyn scored in each of the first 5 innings in this one, bookended by a 5 run 1st inning and an 8 run 5th inning. Francisco Flores had 2 doubles and a homerun and was then lifted from the game for murdering the Gamblers with his 7 RBI. Felipe Vega was 2 for 2 in the game then asked to be removed as well after he drew 4 more walks. Augusto Moran surrendered the first 7 runs to Brooklyn then Clarence McCall came in and one upped him by allowing the next 8. Each pitched just 2 innings.

Madison 11 - Louisville 1
Madison picks up their first FUBAR win over the division leading Sluggers in one of the more unlikely FUBARs of the season. Many in attendance at Schotz Stadium were stunned leaving, especially considering the home team lead just 2-1 heading to the bottom of the 7th. Madison just got guys on and got them in thanks to 8 hits and 3 walks over the final 2 at-bats. Only 2 of the hits were extra base hits as Declan Hounsell homered in the 8th and Ross Quicker had a double in the 7-run 7th inning for the Wolves. Egbert Behner allowed the final 3 runs on 4 hits in 1.1 innings of work.

June 26
Atlantic City 16 - New Orleans 4
Clearly frustrated over yesterday's FUBAR loss, the Gamblers took out their frustration on the Crawdads who were handed their first FUBAR loss of the season. Millard Younger hit a pair of homeruns, a solo shot and a 3 run shot, to lead the team with 4 RBI. Eight different guys for Atlantic City had an RBI and Juan Rivera hit his 33rd homerun of the season. Yo Yamaguchi fell to 5-7 with the loss as he allowed 6 runs on 6 hits in 2.2 innings pitched. Mendoza and Viera each came in in relief and allowed 4 runs apiece.

Yellow Springs 15 - Des Moines 3
The baseballs were flying out of the park in the 5th inning for Yellow Springs who hit 3 homeruns as part of a 9-run inning. Foster and Rodriguez each hit their 15th homers of the season in the inning and Thum hit his 16th. Francisco Rodriguez allowed 7 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks, but did not allow any of the homeruns. Jing Sa allowed 2 of the 3 and allowed 5 runs on 3 hits and a walk while recording just 2 outs. Thum led the way for YS with 3 hits and 4 RBI.

June 27
Calgary 15 - Phoenix 4
The Marauders hit 5 homeruns in the game and 3 came in the first 3 innings. After those first 3 innings, Calgary led 13-3. Liann-wei Mao hit his 32nd and 33rd homeruns, had 3 RBI, and scored 4 runs. Tommy Cochran hit his 4th homerun in the 2nd inning off of Cesar Aguilar. Cochran's homerun was a grand slam! Aguilar allowed 4 runs on 4 hits while recording just 1 out in the 2nd inning, but it was Charlie Iron-Knife's 7 runs allowed on 4 hits and 3 walks in just 1 inning of work to start that set the tone.

Omaha 14 - Madison 2
I do love me some Heartland on Heartland crime! Mauro Flores allowed 7 runs in 2.2 innings to start and then Jeff Whitney came on and allowed another 6 runs in 1.2 innings of relief. That was the first 4.1 innings of the game. Orlando Ordonez hit a homerun in that stretch, his 16th of the season, as part of a 3-4 game that saw him score a pair of runs and drive in 3. Connor Hamilton added 4 singles in 5 at-bats for Omaha. He also scored a run and drove in 3.

June 28
Seattle 10 - Hawaii 0
Vincent Vanderhugen's bases loaded double in the 8th inning turned this from a regular win for the Storm into a FUBAR win over their divisional foe. Vanderhugen added a homerun, his 15th, earlier in the contest to complete a 2-4 day that saw him drive in 4 runs and score a pair. Vanderhugen was joined by 4 more team mates who had a pair of hits as well. Adrian Garcia allowed 4 runs in the 8th inning on 3 hits and a pair of walks to put Hawaii into the loss column for the 2nd time this season.

June 29
Rockville 16 - Charm City 4
"A FUBAR a Day makes me earn my points that way!" A record high number of FUBARs this sim as we had one every day. This excludes all the ones that were also very close! As the weather heats up, I guess the runs are going up as well. This game was tied at 3-3 entering the 7th inning. Felipe Mercado hit a 3 run homerun as part of a 7-run 7th inning for Rockville, then Ricardo Gonzalez allowed 5 runs in the 9th inning to give the Pikemen their FUBAR win. Lorenzo Palacios led the PIkemen with a pair of hits and 4 RBI. Wilson Alomar went 4-5 with a pair of homeruns, 4 runs scored, and 3 RBI.

What's it gonna be called when Long Beach's FUBAR record is a 0-10 FUBAR?
