Your Random BBA Graph of the week - 2041.3

Post by CTBrewCrew » Mon Jan 06, 2020 10:13 pm

Well the 2040 season is behind us, and so I was able to update the entire Injury history Dashboard for us.

Some observations:

If you played for Vancouver you were probably had a less of a chance of getting hurt at a drunk lumberjack convention then you did playing ball for the Mounties. Combined, the Mounties lost 1,485 player days due to injury.

Compare that to down the coast where the California Crusaders, (who must have their players sleep in Terrell Owens style hyperbolic chambers), only lost a combined 91 player days lost to injury.

The BBA had 4 teams lose over 1000 player days due to injury (Boise, Valencia, Vancouver, and San Fernando) while only 2 were under 100. California and Rockville.

Along with the updated data I made some upgrades to the Dashboard:

1) Added Total # of days lost per team
2) Added Total # of injuries per team
3) You can now choose an individual player and see their injuries for the year.
4) Top Injuries have been updated to now show injury Subcategory

Again the Dashboard will automatically change based on filters defined for some areas. To revert back - just re-click on that filter.

Despite being just one of four teams with 1000+ days lost to injury last year(1191), 996 of it was between two pretty sub-mediocre 40-rated players in Robbie van Mierlo and Bailey Attoehow, both who were slated for back-of-the-bullpen roles, so no real loss. In my two-plus years in Boise, we've actually been blessed with a pretty low injury rate. #CueBaseballGods

Nice dashboard, Mike...really well done.

How does Brett do that reverse jinx crap? I'm going to need to do some hocus pocus stuff after this feature.

(really cool, BTW, Mike!)

Life is a bit more beautiful when time is measured by the half inning rather than the half hour.
