Your Random BBA Graph of the week #3

Post by CTBrewCrew » Sat Oct 19, 2019 8:46 pm

Its a 2-fer boys! Thanks again for Niles for providing some inspiration for some ideas... this week its all about the salary cap. Two Viz's

#1 shows each teams Player Salaries over the course of their history laid out in a "Brady Bunch Style" If you scroll over you can see where that particular years player salary fit w/in your franchise - so 1 being the highest and 45 the lowest.

#2 overlays the BBAs 110M Salary cap and shows you where your franchise sat that particular year (above of below). You can select the team from the drop down list (or BBA AVG) to clear it out.

Enjoy!

Makes for conversation....I was talking to RonCo about what a huge slide YS9 did in the 2022 season - their payroll was to 19M down from the franchise high of 137M in 2017. He informed me there was some history behind that huge slide.

Definitely some interesting charts. I'm assuming the YS9 dip was Avery's tank.

I think the more interesting charts are things like Kevin's in Calgary, or Mike's in Hawaii. Hawaii (or Des Moines) shows traits of what happens when budget/revenues go down. These also show quite clearly that player expenses (which I assume these actually are) can and often are above the $110M "cap."

I think it's interesting to page through the second chart, looking at various teams--and in particular the "super teams." for the lack of better words. Note when they are over "salary cap."
