Opening day is always the longest wait for me as I quietly anticipate a perfect sim before seeing the 0 for sim.
The media guide gives me hours and hours of reading that can help to pass that time.
On a side note, If I am asked to do the Johnson predictions again next year I will be better prepared. I was asked on sort of short notice when Ted departed, and gladly accepted however just wish I would have had more time to dig into each team. I was able to spend roughly 30 minutes on each of the 15 teams, however I would have loved to have spent 60 on quite a few of them and put together an even better preview.
Also, tough knowing that Ted was so good at making predictions that I had some tough shoes to fill.

FYI - I made a mistake with Palacios in the Draft Review (Pick #10)... His current team is still Rockville, not TWC.
Wishful thinking I guess... lol
Apologies

LOL at page 13. On more than one occasion I have written a Team News about not being able to write a team news!

Ok... The Article on the BBA and more importantly, it's parity is great. And I agree.
I believe any franchise can be turned around... though it will take several seasons and dedication (and some luck)...
But that's the point.. Right?
I really have no idea about other OOTP leagues. This is my only one and I'm super lucky I reached out to y'all when I was tentatively perusing the OOTP forums, a little nervous I might add, looking for an online league to join. I had only owned OOTP18 for a few weeks at the time and was loving it.

Well, you did a nice job from what I can tell. I would have to agree with your assessment of our weaknesses and I will never count out Jim until he's officially out of a season (speaking of which, can the Crawdads get off to a slow start while we figure out our roster?)
One thing about our rough rotation, if we have a lead entering the 6th, teams are going to have a hard time coming back on us with Grady, Harris, and rookie Gonzalo Mercado manning those final 3-4 innings. Plus Villegas (who I think can have a good season in the bullpen), Montalvo, and Franklin are solid middle relievers.

Fan-fucking-tastic to Ron and all the contributors...what a treat as a newbie. I plan on re-reading it over the weekend and really digesting some of the more analytical studies and historical retrospectives. Amazing work, guys!

I'm perusing the media guide, since it has some material about last season. Thanks for all the Diaz votes. Shame on whoever didn't vote for Pep. (It wasn't me Fred. I'm petty, but not that petty.)
Thanks for the prediction analysis, Ron.
Regarding this, Aaron, you should feel very very good. I did some looking around but comps are hard to find. Video game baseball is probably more predictable than anything in real life. However, I'd say the 2018 MLB season was pretty darn predictable as things go.
Well, our averages appear to be beating every major MLB projection system. PECOTA did the best for MLB last year, at 7.53 for mean absolute value difference (i.e. how many wins you are off by), which slightly edges Aaron's 7.7 career mark. That's the only total we didn't beat. Most of the other systems are in the 8's. I can't find standard deviation info and have gotten bored looking, but I thought this was pretty cool. Good job, us!
