9. Nashville Goats
CROSSROADS
Trade Chips: William Moreland (1B)
So they have made a lot of moves over the past couple of years, but it's still hard to see what "The Plan" truly is.
I think the plan is: make a lot of moves for a few years while you wheather the horrible financial decisions of your predecssor and figure some other stuff things out.
Nah. We've got a pretty solid offense. The pitching staff hasnt found its footing this year. We were hoping that there could be a nice balance between the starting rotation and the bullpen to keep the score low enough for the offense to pull us through. Didnt work out that way. Now we are going in a slightly different direction.

I'm even willing to give Enrique Gomez away but his stats make him damn near undesirable at this point. Oddly enough he has the best WAR of any pitcher I have.
If I could take his money I'd snap him up in a second but I can't. I was hoping to wait him out and sign him to a short term low money deal last offseason before you grabbed him right away.

5. Phoenix Talons
CONTENDER

Biggest Need: Shortstop
The loss of Voitto Stromberg really hurt the Talons, but at least it came before the Trade Deadline. Hyun-oo Yong is the only "viable" internal candidate and he's absolutely horrific. They need to grab someone to take this key position heading into the postseason.
Got an SS, thanks Matt lol. But will it be enough?

The reality is Boise won't be making any trades at the deadline. I have 2 solid pitchers in Makin and Mace that nobody wants to give anything up for. The only player anybody inquires about is Pancho German and the prevailing theme is to try and overwhelm me with quantity for quality trades, which makes zero sense for a #2 SP in this league that is 22 years old. But, Boise keeps plugging away. Our pitching for as bad as it is, is still better than the average staff in the BBA and if our best hitters didn't keep getting injured we may have been able to challenge for 80 wins...as it is Boise needs to go 16-23 to reach its standard of 71 wins...it won't be easy without French & Munoz but Baez returns soon and Boise may have an actual rotation the last 3 trips through...

I've been dying to snatch up a good left reliever. Since Morin got injured I've had to use the somehow successful Suzuki in the rotation. I have been looking for a good lefty since last season though because I wasn't sure Suzuki would hold up. Now, I'd take a solid starter so I can regulate Suzuki back to the bullpen or a good lefty reliever. I enjoyed reading this and you couldn't be more correct when it came to Edmonton.

I find it very difficult to acquire a good SS. I feel like most teams hold their good defensive shortstops close to their chest. Which they rightfully should. I am in the market for a outfielder with strong defense. I am not too hopeful that I will acquire anything by the deadline though. I've been pretty active, but nothing has quite worked out yet.

Tried to make a few moves but it looks like we are going to stay pat. Next year is our year, the playoffs this season would just be a bonus.

Pretty much nailed the thoughts on my trade chips. I am really debating what to do with Menne and whether I should re-sign him in the future or if it will be worth trading him. I won't be trading him this trade deadline because he is on a bit of a down year, but if he picks it back up next season, things could change.
