HOF Analysis: RF

Post by usnspecialist » Sat Apr 20, 2019 1:09 pm

Shown below is a chart of all of the Right Fielders enshrined in the BBA HOF, along with their career stats. The green filled box indicates they are above their positional average, the red or white indicates they are below the average.

This chart shows how far away from the average each player is at a given stat. 1.00 is exactly the mean, higher numbers are good, lower numbers are bad. This is not a perfect chart because it gives every stat the exact same weight, which isnt exactly accurate but it gives a decent picture of what we are looking at.

Another one were players from the original years pull down the chart.

Clarke;s line is interesting though, under average in extra base hits, but above in SLG. Chamberlain gets in on those homers--which is probably fair given that its #2 on the position list.

Chamberlain is also a guy that got in on short term dominance. He disappeared from the game in the 1995 re-boot if I recall. So a lot of his counting numbers would be red on that chart due to his disappearance.
