I have spent the last bit of time compiling a spreadsheet of every team's performance across various categories (offensively, pitching and misc.), and then ranking them both in terms of raw totals and standardized scores against the rest of the teams that particular season. The method I used for the standardized era specific numbers is Z-score (a numerical measurement used in statistics of a value's relationship to the mean (average) of a group of values, measured in terms of standard deviations from the mean). I will be presenting the results in waves as I finish some analysis, starting with raw hitting totals. Before I do, some basic information about the data.

ERA ADJUSTED Hitting Top 10

For this ranking I used Z scores. A brief explanation of what that is can be found with a quick google search, but basically it measures how far (or below) the mean for a given data set that team performed. I used each season as a separate data set so that each team was only compared against their peers for that season. A Z score of 1.0 means that the team performed exactly 1 standard deviation better than the mean, 2.0 is 2 standard deviations better, etc. This allows us to account for various changes in how the league is performing. For example we are in a crazy time for HR and stolen bases right now if you look at the raw top 10 lists, and yet very few performances from modern times show up on these lists because EVERYONE is performing well so it is harder to stand out.

I have listed the top 10 in various key offensive categories (they are only listed to 2 decimal places, but the spreadsheet I will post later goes out beyond that so there actually are no ties), and if nobody from 2037 breaks into the top 10 I have listed them as well with their place. The number in parenthesis is their place on the raw overall list for that category as a point of comparison.
