Someone should show this to Sandcastle's agent so that he can get signed and not lose his place.

i thought of that haha, but the way I have generally done the "active" part of this is you get the entire season to make an appearance in a game (and you can come back in the future if you spend some time in the minors). So all season it will be guys who played in a game either in 2036 or 2037.

Or mine. I've never had a player hold that stance through spring.

I'm still talking to him. He still wants more years.

Just wondering, will he take a three year with the last two as TO's? Or is he refusing options? I don't even want him. I'm just pissed I can't get to the negotiation table because it's fun and informative to see what they'll listen to (and then i don't export). None of the vets that sat around this year liked my manager, so I didn't get to play at all. (and since I never signed big free agents, this is all the FA fun I get)

I'll say what I did since he's not a piece that's going to really put me over the top. Mainly signing him for fan interest reasons. Though I do think if he stays healthy, he could help us with the additions we made at least avoid 100 losses again.

He countered with like 4 years I believe after I offered 2 years with a TO. I offered 2 years again at a little more money with a TO. But put a player opt-out after year 1. Just to give him a little more control.

He signed with us. 2 years $15,000,000. $7,500,000 each season. PO in the middle with year 2 a TO. I think a 25% buyout on the TO.

Jealous - was going to try to bring him back with the money freed up after the Velasquez deal.
