Wow, this is incredible and unlike anything I've ever seen before in a league. I did some light skimming, but I cant wait to read it cover to cover!

:)

We've been doing it since something like 2025 with only (I think) one year's miss. I'll have to do an archive.

Ted nailed the Brooklyn preview. Pretty much everything he said is how I feel. I tried to get Mei but fell about 4 prospects short. If anything I think I'll be able to add one more bat after the draft. Ted even correctly predicted that Manual Andres will join our 3 man rotation as his change up improved enough where he doesn't have to be gimmicked.

Great media guide as always. I'll read the whole thing tommorow. Have a work Christmas party tonight.

love this as always.

The reason carlos Delgado isnt in the rotation is because I despise low stamina starters with the fire of a thousand suns, and 3 wont come close to cutting it there for me.

This one isn't even close to our biggest edition.

I've been writing previews for the league since at least 2013, so there's that, too.

I'll have to go back and check out the old ones. Would be interesting to see how the predictions stack up to the results.

Please don't tell me. I don't want to know how dumb I am.

In all honestly (and perhaps lack of humility) I think Aaron and I do pretty well. There's always at least one team in each league that makes us look stupid. Someone else always gets destroyed by injuries, but I think we've reached the point where there are few surprises. This isn't to toot mine and Aaron's horn. The other GMs that do team previews are often just as spot on as we are. In my experience, when there is a discrepancy between an individual team preview and the ones Aaron and I write, I find largely that it is to to the lack of context that the individual writer has.

Just browsing Aaron's previews, I get the feeling that he would agree with me that the Johnson got abnormally better this year while the Frick weakened. If you have a Johnson league team and think your team is two wins better this year than last (which by the way is not as easy as it sounds to do in one offseason), you may end up with the same record as last year, because EVERYONE got better.

An example of this is the Nashville preview written by Tyler. I agree with everything he says. I have Nashville two wins lower because I had to take two wins off EVERY team in the Johnson to make the numbers add up. Aaron and I should probably start getting together and deciding which league is better and trading some wins (we won't because it's a scramble to get this done every season already). But in reality, the Johnson might be 30 wins better than the Frick, so Tyler might be right.

Regardless, I strongly encourage everyone to do at least one team preview. It's the best way to zero on player value and team construction. I don't do this just for fun. I like the PP, but what I really like is how it forces me to compare teams and pick winners. In turn, as I get better at that, I get better at managing my own roster. And when I'm wrong, sometimes it's great, because that means I just learned a new trick.

Great stuff again this year guys! I'll finish reading it on my 10 hours of flying tomorrow (hate it when work sends you to Hawaii for a week in December!) Definitely cant argue with the predictions for the Goats but if the pitching staff can stay healthier than the craziness we went through last season, and we can find a young guy or two to step up, we'll make the moves we need, when needed, to get us to close to 90 wins this season.

That's what The Plan® says, so it must be true!

The Johnson League definitely got better, though some teams in the Frick are better too (Edmonton, Valencia).

Good stuff again guys!

Ted, I'd add one thing. We were very healthy last year (outside of an early, couple week injury to Martinez). I would expect a few more injuries. And while we generally have more depth than a lot of teams, if we lose someone like Behner, Noboru, Wareham (or a combination), we could see some (relative) struggles.

I'm not sure how much better Edmonton is. It's tough to say. I'm mostly just taking the worst of my offense and shifting the paradigm to a defensive priority. I hope it works out. I've never really run a team that way, so this will be new to me. My valuation has always been the same, but I never had so many terrible hitters that were starters lol.

I think Rin will be a good addition. Moving Ramos to a full time starter should be better. The bullpen is still mostly trash. If I brought Collins up, I would be able to confidently say we got better, but since I'm likely going to see what he does in AAA for another year, I'm not confident Edmonton got better enough to meet my expectations. I guess going from 64 to 78 wins is objectively better if the prediction turns out to be accurate. I want more though. I'm laser-focused on being competitive, but I'm not going to hurt the development of a number 1 overall pick to do it. Thanks for the vote of confidence though. This will be a fun season.

This media guide is awesome. I must have left just a few seasons before you started doing it. I'm still reading through it, but I just wanted to make sure I left something here. Great work!

Love the work guys! Just one thing though, my last name was spelled wrong in the team preview ("Bettencourt", not "Betancourt") Just thought I'd point it out, but this stuff is really fun to read.
