I've only been a part of 2 drafts and it will still be at least a couple of seasons before my draftees find themselves in the BBA. Seeing as how most everyone agrees that the 2035 draft was pretty week, that wont help out my future place on this type of list, but you never know.

What do you teach!?

You and I must be teaching different subjects/classes/grades or something. I get more baseball done at school than at home!

Granted I'm about to start the grind of coaching Boys JV Basketball next week and not looking forward to a single second of it.

I'm in my first year of teaching Honors Precalculus at a school where they don't multiply well or do homework often, so it's been quite a struggle to accomplish anything. Requires answer keys for everything, tons of extra clarification and lots of after school time, along with tons of extra paperwork and pure exhaustion time when I get home.

Of note is that of the 8 total draftees Tyler Simmons has drafted and that made the BBA, only one is still with Jacksonville, which probably says something about the Jacksonville strategy for extending their run.
Damn straight. Of those 8, only 2 have positive WAR. And we've turned that 0.9 WAR into 33.3 WAR thanks to Sandcastle, Martinez, Gonzaga, Behner, and Little Hurt (no thanks to de Meza, who had a -0.5 WAR in J'ville). Had we not just traded Martinez (returning, arguably, more talent than those 8 combined), three of those guys would still be key players in Jacksonville

Also, got me looking back at my own drafts. Some interesting things. In 10 years, I've drafted 20 players who have put up a positive career WAR (so far). 10 of them were selected in rounds 1 or 2, 10 of them were taken in rounds 3 or later. I've drafted 4 players who have put up 10+ career WAR, again an even split with two 1st rounders (Noboru and Arnold), a 3rd rounder (Miranda) and a 21st rounder (Pratt). I've drafted a dozen more who have put up negative career WAR to this point, but I think a handful of them will wind up with positive WAR, and a couple should end up in double-digits.
