It's been a long cold winter.
After the fall and winter of discontent, the players came back to the table and the strike is over. Elder Statesman and league benefactor Monty Brewster interjecting himself in to the negotiations helped to close the gap between the parties and now we're looking at an opening day again!
Lots of league turnover at the moment, we may see some new ownership faces after some grew frustrated at the negotiation table and sold their franchises back to Brewster. With new ownership comes some familiar faces at GM. there will be new faces as well.
Nick Porcaro sold his multi-million dollar photography and camera shop business and was hired back as the GM of the California Crusaders. Austin looked no further than B. D. Riley's Irish Pub on 6th Street to find Joel Odenbach ready and able to assume the front office helm (once he sobered up).
Jeremy Reinholt was asked to come back and initially agreed, but decided that his radishes needed more attention at the Reinholt Burlap Factory and Spiritual Organic commune.
Returning Las Vegas Hustlers GM Matt Rectenwald had been moonlighting as a Karaoke singer and coordinator of the nude dance review at Sushisamba on the Las Vegas strip.
The most unusual return was MIke Lynch, who wanted to "keep on a' poplin'" in Des Moines after serving as former NFL player Sam Adams' personal assistant. Young Kernels Pitcher Eddie Harris was heard squealing with glee when the news broke in the clubhouse.
The GM landscape is changing, more to come...
