We're see more familiar faces return to the MBBA after the long strike-produced layoff.

Originally there was a rumor that Greenville had tried and failed to hire former GM Ron Churches, as he was contemplating offers form former Defense Secretaries Richard Cheney or Don Rumsfeld to join their presidential campaign exploratory committees. Ron ultimately did return and join the team.

Mike Voelker had been accepted to the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in Los Angeles, but put his studies on hold to join the NEw Orleans Crawdads. 'Dads pitcher Lee Dedeaux was a tad less than pleased to hear it, as there were rumors of a rift between Voelker and Dedeaux regarding contract negotiations.

It was bittersweet moment for first baseman Terry Franciscen when word came that ball would resume. He had thought his career was over at the age of 33. Terry's first cousin, also named Terry, was one of the first openly gay members of the old Global Baseball Consortium, and had died of AIDS back in the 80s. Terry mentioned ot me that he "really wanted to continue to play in honor of my cousin, and I'm really glad I'm able to do so."

Furniture magnate Lee Honigsfeld didn't have to return to Valencia, as his barstool business has taken off, but Honigsfeld, who is known for his use of the comma when sending email communications, decided that he couldn't turn down an opportunity to run a franchise again.

Former League GM Jerimy Kopra has been used by league benefactor Monty Brewster as an initial communications tool to gauge interest in other owners. Brewster stated that "I've already appreciated his honestly and soft touch, and knew I could use him as a league ambassador". Kopra was instrumental in bringing Ross Grooters in to the fold, even though there was some consternation on the part of some owners about his perceived short temper, but Brewster felt that it was something easily overlooked.

The most controversial GM move has to be the hiring of Jon Lyons by the Atlantic City Gamblers. Lyons, who was the subject of a NY Post expose on his voracious sexual appetite and affinity for encounters with multiple women, has not commented on his return to the MBBA.
