2034: Budgets Booming

Post by RonCo » Sat Feb 17, 2018 9:54 am

If, as they say, money talks ... the places to be right now are the Frick Heartland and the Johnson Atlantic. We say that because owners are putting their money where their mouth us in those divisions. Budgets rose by $61M in the JLA, $57M in the FH. The numbers in the Frick pacific were up also (about $18M), but fell by $37M in the once powerful Johnson Southern. Across the league, budgets rose by nearly $100M on increasing revenues.

"The playoffs were a big draw this fall," a league representative said. "Advertisers love extra innings."

The news is good for the players' association, who released a notice to their constituency that suggested lots of money may be available this season. As a result, perhaps, several stars chose to opt out of big contracts in hopes of finding bigger ones.

YELLOW SPRINGS IS BIG WINNER

From a team standpoint, the YS9 now stand on top of the heap with a $156M budget, up from last season's $138M, an $18M increase. The fact remains that 16 of the leagues' 28 teams will spend more in 2034. Five more teams will tread water, with seven GMs needing to tighten the belts.

All total, 2034 budgets project spending of just over $3.2B. Yes, with a B. Below find the relevant charts.

Lol... Twin Cities budget was about $82 Mil when I took over 2+ seasons ago.

But payroll was bottom of the league too.

This year brought in $36 mil profit... The owner better enjoy it while he can, because half the team is getting paid soon. Haha

All this means is that we are going to see some extra bad contracts this winter.
