Short Story Placeholder...

Maybe I should just shut up about it, but I just finished a 3Kish word short story written in this little environment of ours. I was going to post it directly, but I think instead that I'll leave it sit a day or two and submit it around to a couple places that I think might be interested in actually publishing it. I'm not 100% someone's going to _want_ to publish it since it's kind of got a wonky-weird flavor to it. But it's possible, and I figure that would be kinda cool.

The issue is that if I post it here now, I can't market it as a first publication. So I'm going to just drop this placeholder, and come back to it as seems appropriate (either point you to a publication, or go ahead and drop it here if it comes back too many times--ah, the glorious life of a guy who writes on spec).

Good luck, man. I'm excited for the read either way.

by weird, do you mean it involves shetland ponies, visqueen, disco lights and butter flavored crisco?

After a very long wait, I can now say that this story will be published in an upcoming Fiction River anthology. Probably another year before it's out, but it'll be cool...and I'm certain Alan will love it. To give a hint why: the title is "The Robin Club."

If all goes well, it will be the second BBA-related story to be published in this series of anthologies. ;)

In the traditional market, the publishing game is a long haul.
