A thought just crossed my mind that would allow me to live my life long dream of being a degenerate bookie.
What if, heading into the MBBA playoffs, I set handicaps (based on my own opinion, since it is my money on the line at the end of the day) against all participants and the members of the league were then allowed to place bets against me with purely in-game currency (team cash on hand).
For example, if the playoffs started today I would give (note: this is pretty much off the top of my head) LV and Van 3:1 odds, MAD 5:1 odds, CAR and NO 7.5:1 odds, WAS and BAL 10:1 odds.
Let's say 2 bets get placed on every team at 5M each (16 participants - 80M dedicated)
If LV/VAN win I pay out 25M total
If MAD wins I pay out 50M total
If CAR/NO win I pay out 75M total
If WAS/BAL win I pay out 100M total
So, just like for those participating there is a risk of me losing money (perhaps seizmic if a ton of people play the heavy odds and the underdogs pull it out)... I think that'd be pretty fun.

I'd crunch all the numbers and keep tabs on it, all you'd have to do is deduct/add cash at the start of the offseason as requried for each team..recte44 wrote:Sounds like even more work for the simmer.

As a former commish (and aspiring degenerate bookie) I'd put an over/under of 8 minutes for you to go through each team that participated and add/subtract money from their cash based on a spreadsheet I'd put together for you.recte44 wrote:"All I have to do"
Just sayin'.

No worries if you veto it, though. Was just a random idea that popped into my head. I usually just zone out and count the days until the playoffs are over when I'm not a participant, so was trying to drum up some interest from this year's peanut gallery (including myself).
