Short A

Post by bschr682 » Thu Sep 16, 2021 1:31 pm

Perhaps I’m wrong but it seems to me there is zero difference between rookie league and short A. They start at the same time and play the same number of games I think.

Would it make sense to extend the length of Short A to something that’s halfway between Rookie league and Single A? Have the league start somewhere around Memorial Day so that we have some game data to go off of when we make cuts when the surge of players from the draft hits. This would make it an actual step up from just being a rookie league clone.

Just a thought.

Sure. This can be changed for next year, the only thing is it's going to create another deadline that people will have a hard time following.

It’s spreading out those 2 deadlines we already have but yea I can see that being a headache for you. If it’s too annoying don’t bother. It’s just a thought I had as I stared at my short A team being full and not playing.

I prefer keeping them on the same schedule. I only want to make cuts once after the draft.

I like the benefits of that idea, but understand the admin issues. So, I vote yes, but not with great gusto.

Life is a bit more beautiful when time is measured by the half inning rather than the half hour.

If extended, would it be called "Medium A"?
