"Coaching" stats?

Post by cheekimonk » Fri Dec 30, 2011 8:28 pm

This is probably a sneaky way to request, yet again, the .csv files of game logs for my players. I was able to assess my pitchers' 2002 performance as starters vs. in relief, but it was manual and somewhat repetitive.

Having said that please brainstorm with me. Even in the .csv files or the box scores or the game logs, where would be the best place to pull "coaching decisions." For instance, I can push the "Hit and Run" slider wherever I want, but what is the effect? Ok, that was probably a bad example as I don't think we'll find "Player executes hit and run." But "Bunt for Hit", "Sacrifice Bunts", "Use Squeeze Bunt", etc. I want to be able to mine from somewhere. Maybe the amount of attempted "bunts for hit" that I have in mind I think is 3 ticks above the middle setting, but game data could show me it's getting called 3x more than I intend. Any ideas? It would certainly have to be parsed, I'm sure, if it exists anywhere...
