Trans-Atlantic Classic

Suggestion: at the end of the season, the best EBA team (or maybe the EBA All-Star team?) plays a series against an MBBA team. Obviously not the Landis champion -- we don't need that kind of a bloodbath -- but maybe the team with the worst record? Or a randomly selected/rotating team from America?
Might be a fun idea.

How about a series with relegation as the stakes? That'll stop tanking!
In all honesty, its a fun idea, but even the MBBA's worst should absolutely pummel the EBA's best. So we either 1) Have the MBBA team roll and feel it was a waste of time or 2) Have the MBBA team get upset and open up a whole new avenue of ridicule for one of the leauge's downtrodden.

Reminds me of the old NFL Champion vs NCAA All-Stars games they used to have from 1934-76. Of course, back then it was thought that many of the best NCAA players stopped playing after college and that the talent was probably equal (or even slanted in favor of the NCAA All-Stars). College players could show off their talents to the pro league in front of big crowds, and the NFL could prove they weren't a bunch of low talent hacks in it for just the (small) paycheck. Early on, it was fairly close; I think the college players were something like 7-13 in the first 20 games, but over the last 20 years, it was a blood bath with the college all stars winning just twice (and getting outscored by the Packers 99-17 over a 3 year stretch).
My guess is that the EBA all stars could win about 1-3 out of every 20 against a MBBA team.
Maybe the top finishing, non-playoff team plays the EBA all stars?

The All Stars idea is interesting. Don't know how much work it would be to set up series though. If it was EBA All Stars, perhaps the season winning GM could manage it.

I like the idea of giving the guys who miss the playoffs something to care about over the last stretch. Maybe the top team from each MBBA league that misses the playoffs play against each other, and then the winner of that takes on the EBA winner?

Really? Not sure I am a fan of this. MBBA team risking a long term injury playing against a EBA team?

Guys can get hurt at any time. Plus it's the last thing of the year so the chances of losing someone to a long term injury are pretty slim.

Hurt anytime playing games that matter yes, but not these games.

One could always turn off injuries for this series.
I think Recte wouldn't though.
He's a purist.

The fact that it is the last sim means the chances are slimmer yes...but as we saw from the 1st two sim's of the regular season, they can happen at anytime. I know there was at least one

during sim 1.

I do love the idea of relegation, although I realize that's not feasible.

As the team who could be at the bottom this season, I like the idea. I don't like the relegation angle but just a fun series.
Honestly, I think Brussels would have beaten Madison last season in a best of 3 or 5 series. Best of 7 maybe not as the bottom of the rotation comes into play. But Brussels probably had a better 1-2 punch and better offensive power with Salazar than Madison had.

Hell no on relegation. The rest of it I like. We could even have a 4-team tournament.

I like the idea of a tournament a lot. Gives teams like Madison/Greenville (or Buffalo in years past) who basically have no interest in the standings at all something to care about. They're going to get some "playoff revenue", presumably, and maybe we could even have a prize for the winning team. PP maybe, or just cash?
Worst team in JL, worst team in FL, best team in EBA East, best team in EBA west.
