Application from Rob McMonigal - New Applicant

Post by Anonymous » Sat Oct 15, 2022 4:08 pm

A user, Rob McMonigal, has applied with the following information using the application form.
Real name: Rob McMonigal
IP: 2601:1c2:700:98b0:c59d:dcde:91a5:b063
Email: trebro@gmail.com
Applying for: New Applicant
Reason for applying:
Because when I first learned about what was then called rotisserie baseball when I was 10, I bought the book with my own money, created a league using stuffed animals as team owners, and ran an entire league on pen and paper only for 2 years, almost without a break.
First/Last Name: Rob McMonigal
City/State/Country: Portland, OR USA
Email Address: trebro@gmail.com
OOTP Forums Username: Trebro
Desired Forum Username: Rob McMonigal
Date of Birth (MM/DD/YY) for in-game purposes: 01/12/1978
Occupation: COO
Other OOTP Leagues (with links): None
Have you read the BBA Constitution and agree to abide by its rules?: Yes diddly es! (Sorry, Ned Flanders took over my keyboard for a second)
Do you own the current version of OOTP, and plan to buy all future versions?: Yes!
Do you understand the Participation Point System, and agree to be a regular contributor to our community?: Yes!
What interests you about the BBA?: I like the longstanding history and the fact that the league owners want to interact with that history via the articles, guide, etc.
Describe your GM style: I suck. No, really. I love baseball, but I seem to always pick the wrong players to build around, LOL. It's because I love contact hitters and get over-enamored with power pitching
Have you ever answered to the alias "Al Hoot"? (a little BBA inside joke!): No, but I do give a hoot and don't pollute.
Tell us more about yourself: I'm Rob, loved baseball since I was 4, long-suffering Pirates follower. I love the peculiar stats history of baseball. Took a break from OOTP online and am ready to come back, playing one league only that has the interactivity and enjoyment of the playing aspect, not *just* winning.
How did you hear about the BBA?: Seen it repeatedly on the online leagues forum.

Ironically, we have several stuffed animals as current owners. That is, they have the table manners of animals, and they're totally stuffed with... never mind.

Hmmm. Tempted to replace a few of my personnel with stuffed animals. Probably a whole lot cheaper.

Welcome!!!

Thanks all! Still working on getting my head around the forum tools including signature et all, but I appreciate the warm welcome! Looking forward to having a lot of fun participating and getting to know everyone and the league. Going to try to help make the GBC even more fun than it already looks to be!

Welcome, Rob. Growing up, The Lumber Company was my backup team, as I waited for my 1970s-era Phillies to develop. I still have a soft spot for that team.

People around here liking the stuffed animal thing and I’m over here wondering how many people you’ve murdered. Maybe we should add that question to the application or maybe I’ve been arching too much Dahmer. Anyway, welcome. You’re gonna kill it one way or another in the BBA.
