Application from John Heinz - New Applicant

Post by Anonymous » Sat Aug 21, 2021 11:31 pm

A user, John Heinz, has applied with the following information using the application form.
Real name: John Heinz
IP: 2601:205:0:2b00:15f0:54a7:5130:8dfc
Email: johnheinz1979@gmail.com
Applying for: New Applicant
Reason for applying:
I'm an OOTP "lifer", having been in OOTP leagues since 2004. Predating that I was in a slew of BBPro leagues, including running a successful one for a few years. I'm a reliable exporter - I really only miss an export if I literally don't have CPU access (vacation, out of town for a weekend, etc). Always something to tweak and fiddle with!

I'm a fairly conservative GM - I'm not someone who is going to come in, take a team and hyper-transact things. I like to ease my way into leagues. I'm currently in 3 leagues, one is a Daily sim league (one sim day per real life day) and two more "traditional" leagues which are sister leagues to each other (on the same Discord server). I was in a 4th, but today the commissioner after 8 RL years of doing the gig decided to hang 'em up, putting me on the hunt for a new adventure.
First/Last Name: John Heinz
City/State/Country: Fresno, CA, USA
Email Address: johnheinz1979@gmail.com
OOTP Forums Username: jeheinz72
Desired Forum Username: jeheinz72
Date of Birth (MM/DD/YY) for in-game purposes: 09/22/79
Occupation: Sales
Other OOTP Leagues (with links): MLB Pro - https://statsplus.net/mlbpro/exporthistory/ (TB if you want to check) & Dugout - https://statsplus.net/thedugout/exporthistory/ (Vancouver) and Sandlot (SF) - https://atl-01.statsplus.net/sandlot/exporthistory/
Have you read the BBA Constitution and agree to abide by its rules?: Yes
Do you own the current version of OOTP, and plan to buy all future versions?: Yes and Yes
Do you understand the Participation Point System, and agree to be a regular contributor to our community?: Yeah, I mean I'll have questions, but I get the general idea and will contribute
What interests you about the BBA?: I like long-standing "not going anywhere" leagues - and active GMs (which by the expansions I'm figuring you have)
Describe your GM style: Answered a bit above - but conservative, not overly wheel n deal, try to make pinpointed specific moves. I also love to tinker
Have you ever answered to the alias "Al Hoot"? (a little BBA inside joke!): Not recently no
Tell us more about yourself: Just a regular Dad and husband in California. In sales, but work from home. Occasional travel back when we could do that. Love sports, specifically the SF Giants and the Miami Dolphins (my Dad played for them back in the 70s)
How did you hear about the BBA?: I've seen it around - and even found some articles on your forums with tips and tricks and analysis before. As mentioned above, a long time league I was in folded and I went on the hunt. Saw your post on the forums and it was a no brainer

Haha no he doesn’t. Only time we’ve done it was when the Patriots lost in the Super Bowl to the Giants. We both thought that game was going to be the end of it, we didn’t even watch it together. Once it ended I sprinted to the store, spent way too much on a couple bottles and headed for my folks house. I walked in and said “well you might as well actually do it this time”

If you wore a uniform, it would have to be #57,
Yeah, yeah, you've heard it before.
P.S. Love your logo!

Actually, my Dad lucked out and his uni # fit pretty well as #72. Tough to beat given how they did in 1972
So I was naturally 72 (27 for baseball)

My son is a freshman this year, but for some fool reason #72 was size Large and he's 6'3" 280 so that wasn't going to work. #57 was a medium so he went with 62 to at least get one digit in there

To show how old I am, I wore number 42 in high school baseball and basketball. No, not because of Jackie Robinson. Because my favorite football player was Chuckin' Charlie Conerly of the NY Football Giants. He wore 42.
