Application from Jimmy Doucette - New Applicant

Post by Anonymous » Wed Feb 05, 2020 12:27 pm

A user, Jimmy Doucette, has applied with the following information using the application form.
Real name: Jimmy Doucette
IP: 2600:8805:a180:a3d:e10e:965b:34f4:a090
Email: jimmy.doucette@gmail.com
Applying for: New Applicant
Reason for applying:
I'm an aspiring novelist with a sharp sense of humor. A lovable loser for my entire OOTP career that started in 2008, I stepped away from playing this past fall to focus on a novel, thinking I'd write more. Well, writing consistently is really damn hard, I haven't written more, and convinced John Henry invited Babe Ruth's ghost back into Fenway last night, I'm itching to throw myself back into a game I've loved since I was a teenager.
First/Last Name: Jimmy Doucette
City/State/Country: Providence, RI, USA
Email Address: jimmy.doucette@gmail.com
OOTP Forums Username: MrFridayMorning
Desired Forum Username: BabeRuthsGhost
Date of Birth (MM/DD/YY) for in-game purposes: 01/16/1988
Occupation: trade show salesman and aspiring novelist
Other OOTP Leagues (with links): None
Have you read the BBA Constitution and agree to abide by its rules?: I haven't yet, but I promise, I promise I will!
Do you own the current version of OOTP, and plan to buy all future versions?: yes
Do you understand the Participation Point System, and agree to be a regular contributor to our community?: yes and yes
What interests you about the BBA?: I've admired the BBA from a distance for a long time, as the top-of-the-top immersive fictional league. I was in my heyday in the days when participation point systems and wordpress writing leagues were the rage. BBA has adapted well in a world transitioning to instant gratification and Slack, and that's what I'm looking for.
Describe your GM style: Besides lovable loser?! :) I'm patient and I prefer to get to know my team and players before I make any whirlwind decisions. In 10 years playing, I've never owned a large market team (might also be why I've never won). I have a bad habit of falling in love with players and their imagine backstories and I allow that to cloud my judgement.
Have you ever answered to the alias "Al Hoot"? (a little BBA inside joke!): No, I can't wait to hear the story.
Tell us more about yourself: I'm a 32-year-old Bostonian, angry at the Red Sox and terrified of ghosts of players past. I travel the world supporting medical congresses, which means lots of time on planes and hotel rooms to play OOTP and write. Married, no kids.
How did you hear about the BBA?: I've been seeing you on the OOTP forums forever.

Welcome. Who's Babe Ruth? Is he some kind of fictional ballplayer?

I like to mash fantasy into other genres. Right now I’m working on a series of short stories about a washed up professional wrestlers who gets recruited to do a reality TV show where he hunts America’s mythical monsters (Bigfoot, Paul Bunyan, pukwudgies, etc.)... weird stuff.

sounds like someone needs to hire Dusty Rhodes when he finishes his assault on the BBA record books.
