Figured I'd move TIm's application to a new post so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle.

Welcome! I'm liking the English connection we have here! I guess I didn't realize there was much of a following of MLB overseas in "old Europe"!

Yeah, there is a following for MLB over in England, not as big as Gridiron but growing. we get ESPN America now so we actually have access to games which helps. Until then the only baseball on UKTV was sporadic, I recall watching the Dodgers win the World series ( the Kirk Gibson disabled homer one) I really got into it, then poof, nothing more for 25 years! To be honest I gave up till my lovely wife bought me a sub to ESPN last year, mainly to let me watch College Football. I had no intention of watching any baseball, but watched a great documentary series 30 for 30, one of which was 4 Days in October about the 2004 ALCS Red Sox v Yankees. I was fascinated by the passion, the history and the depth in such a supposedly simple game. I decided to watch a couple of live games and got hooked. I still have a long way to go before I know my VORP from my BAPIP but I'm getting there!
Next up was OOTP and the end of my life as I knew it
I manage the Rockies in my only other OOTP league but fiction really appeals so I thought I'd give it a shot. The MBBA seems a fun place with a good history so here I am!

Back in the old GBC I use to own a team called the London Bishops. I was the first to move a team over seas. Maybe we can bring em' back! Welcome Tim
Re: New Applicant - Tim Brown
I have a mate in England who once, while we were chatting on YIM, configured his screen so I could watch a Braves-Astros game via our YIM connection. I didn't have cable and it was the last series of the season, maybe the one where the Stros cost the Braves the division, I'm not sure. But this guy wasn't even a baseball fan and now he owns a chateu in Normandy, so I am not even sure how English he is.
Welcome to Tim - I vacationed in England, Wales, Scotland for a month in 1994. Excellent weather there in June, except for Edinburgh, where it seemed like winter weather in Central Texas.

Hehe yeah baseball coverage over here is great as long as you have ESPN which is pretty cheap ( about $10 per month) we get 3-4 games a night, though most times they start 1200am and you have to record them. It is pretty beautiful over here even if the weather is crap for 11.5 months a year. I guess if you colonials grovel enough we'd take you back, as long as we get to send Madonna back and you keep the Beckhams.

Okay, but you also have to give us Gwyneth Paltrow. Otherwise you get at least Posh Spice back.
