New Applicant: Ryan Wangman
First Name: Ryan
Last Name: Wangman
City: Chicago
State: IL
Country: US
Email: ryanwangman@gmail.com
Desired Username: starfox64
Date of Birth (MM/DD/YY) for in-game purposes: 06/28/1990
Occupation: Journalist
Other OOTP Leagues (with links): https://statsplus.net/ibf/
https://statsplus.net/ooobl/
https://statsplus.net/theclub/
I have read the BBA Constitution and agree to abide by its rules.: checked
I own the current version of OOTP, and plan to buy all future versions.: checked
I understand the Participation Point system, and agree to be a contributor on a regular basis to our community.: checked
What interests you about the Brewster Baseball Association?: I love the idea of becoming super invested in your team through writing articles as you try to get in the heads of people in a fictional world in an attempt to create a comprehensive and competitive community. I love the idea that the league has such a robust history, and that all GMs seem to be very involved.
Do you have any weird OOTP or GM quirks- like you don't believe in making trades, for example?: I can never seem to let go of players I personally draft -- I am always just so worried they'll break out for somebody else that often I am tight-fisted with my prospects. This sometimes yields good results, but often just coalesces in irrational attachment.
Have you ever answered to the alias "Al Hoot"? (Don't worry, this is just an inside thing that amuses us.): Nope!
Tell us more about yourself!: I am a journalism student who is a junior in college, and have loved baseball ever since I was very young. My dad taught me how to score at Cubs games, and I have some of my favorite childhood memories at Wrigley, watching Alfonso Soriano belt homers out of the friendly confines, or Aramis Ramirez make clutch defensive plays. I got away from baseball for a few years but now it's back to being my passion, and I love it so much.

Welcome to a fellow Cubs fan and a fellow potential newspaper journalist! Much of my childhood was spent watching the same homers & defensive gems by Ramirez!

Man, I'm old... My childhood was spent spent watching Dale Murphy and Ryan Sandberg on TBS/WGN(?). We didn't have a baseball team in Denver at the time, so I many watched the Cubs daily during the summer since I think they only played day games back then.. lol.niles08 wrote:Welcome to a fellow Cubs fan and a fellow potential newspaper journalist!
