New Applicant: Randy
Hi Randy!
First Name:
Randy
Last Name:
Weigand
City:
Alexandria
State:
VA
Country:
US
Email:
usnspecialist@gmail.com
Desired Username:
usnspecialist
Date of Birth (MM/DD/YY) for in-game purposes:
03/08/87
Occupation:
US Navy Intelligence Specialist
Other OOTP Leagues (with links):
Hickory Baseball League back in the day.
http://www.hblbaseball.com/news/html/le ... _home.html
I have read the BBA Constitution and agree to abide by its rules.:
checked
I own the current version of OOTP, and plan to buy all future versions.:
checked
I understand the Participation Point system, and agree to be a contributor on a regular basis to our community.:
checked
What interests you about the Brewster Baseball Association?:
I am looking to get back into OOTP after some time off forced by the folding of my previous league (as well as the birth of my son). I have always wanted a bigger league with an active and engaged group of owners, and the story writing is an interesting challenge for me.
Do you have any weird OOTP or GM quirks- like you don't believe in making trades, for example?:
I am not afraid to promote my guys early and let them figure it out at the next level and even struggle for a bit. Also I lean strongly on the analytic/sabermetric side of analyzing players. RBI and saves are two of the worst stats in any sport.
Have you ever answered to the alias "Al Hoot"? (Don't worry, this is just an inside thing that amuses us.):
I have been called many things in my life (flattering and not so flattering), Al Hoot is not one of them.
Tell us more about yourself!:
I am a 30 year old who has been enlisted in the navy for almost 8 years now as an intelligence specialist. I have been stationed in Seoul, South Korea, Coronado, CA (USS Carl VINSON aircraft carrier), and currently at the Pentagon. Before joining the navy, I attended Drake University where I competed in track (mostly steeplechase, but the occasional 1500m and 5k) and cross country. I have been married for 3 years now, and have a son Harper who was born in May 2016. Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, I am a sports junkie in general and heavily root for all Chicago teams except for the Cubs (I am fairly certain it says in the Constitution somewhere that "thou shalt not support two teams from the same city in the same sport").

Welcome.
I hope I win the contest we have going for Havana (which judging by the looks of things, would be one of the rare wins Havana has had lately), and regardless look forward to interacting with everyone. My application has been submitted and I'm sure it will be copied into the initial post shortly.

Re: New Applicant: Randy
Another thing about me, I say what is on my mind and I'm not afraid to ruffle a few feathers in doing so. Sometimes gets me in trouble at work (the military isn't exactly big on that sort of thing, and the Pentagon REALLY isn't), but that is just my personality.allenr wrote:Lol this guy wins just for hating rbis and saves.

Welcome Randy! Thank you for your service. I also love that you hate the Cubs. We need more of that here.
