New Applicant: Chris ORourke
First Name: Chris
Last Name: ORourke
City: Shoreham
State: NY
Country: US
Email: chris@giacor.com
Desired Username: Orator
Date of Birth (MM/DD/YY) for in-game purposes: 12/02/74
Occupation: CEO of an executive search & consulting firm (pharma/biotech industry)
Other OOTP Leagues (with links): Recent member of a modern sim style league:
JBL2 - http://www.justiceleaguebaseball.com/ga ... index.html
I own the current version of OOTP, and plan to buy all future versions.: checked
I have read the MBWBA Constitution and agree to abide by its rules.: checked
I understand the Participation Point system, and agree to be a contributor on a regular basis to our community.: checked
What interests you about the MBWBA?: There is quite a bit, actually. I was looking for an intensively active league. Not from a sim perspective, but from within the community of the league. Nothing makes me lose interest faster than a lack of engagement. I have been searching for quite a bit of time for an online league that I could really dive into. The challenge has been finding an active community, with a rule set that I could be comfortable with. That search lead me here. I think what brings me to this application, beyond the activity and rules of MBWBA, is the history and longevity. I was initially hesitant about the potentially steep learning curve, but after reading some of the community's posts in the recruiting thread on OOTP, I was sold.
Additionally, there is the added bonus that your forum is available via Tapatalk.
Do you have any weird OOTP or GM quirks- like you don't believe in making trades, for example?: Mildly obsessed with obtaining prospects.
Have you ever answered to the alias "Al Hoot"? (Don't worry, this is just an inside thing that amuses us.): Not knowingly.
Tell us more about yourself!: Unashamedly, my best friend is my youngest, my 4 1/2 year old son. I am reliving my youth with him all over again (comic books, baseball cards, Lego, etc.) and having a blast doing so. Maybe it's a midlife crisis, but I'm having fun. Besides getting back into comic books and baseball cards again at 41 years old, I am passionate about cigars and truly enjoy a good whiskey (mostly Irish). Additionally and obviously, baseball...as well as European football/soccer and the NBA.
