Why are my players on waivers being released?

I have had 3 players now released coming off waivers. Why are they not being put on the 40 man roster and then sent to AAA? I have done this in off line leagues so I don't see why every time I put someone on waivers they are released by the simmer. I know these players cannot go from the active roster to AAA but coming off of waivers they should be able to go on the 40 man roster and then on AAA.

Can someone explain to me why they are being released. It is going to put me down about 20 million for the season.

If they refuse demotion, there's no guarantee they'll accept AAA assignment. I can't speak for the simmers, but my guess is that if they don't accept assignment, then they're being cut.

that is quite correct. Every attempt is made to put them somewhere, but if the player refuses demotion, they have to be released. So, you have to be careful when you DFA veteran players, especially ones who used to be good.

Sounds good.

I was thinking it didn't matter as long as you put them on the 40 man and then while still on waivers/dfa they get sent to AAA. I didn't think at that point they had a choice.

I guess it will be nice to take a hit financially this year then to spread it out over 3 years.

Exactly what he said.
