Bret Harrell is getting robbed of the FL Gillstrom right now. Try to look past W-L record and look a little closer at the numbers. Long had a great year too, and I know I'm biased, but it seems like a pretty easy call. Tell me why I'm wrong, I guess.

I gotta admit I thought Harrell was a RP, so I had him 3rd. I'll re-visit this. I still can't believe a DH is winning FL Silk, meanwhile Grun was positive at both 1B and 2B. I didn't even vote for my own guy, Kidd. I might have to reconsider. I didn't realize he had such a great season. Only four qualifiers over .900 OPS is odd.

Weird. When I filtered players with at least 1 IP and 1 PA, nobody showed up.

Should the Silk award consider defense? Is it analogous to MVP or is it a purely hitting award?

Just like the MVP in that fictional "MLB", it's completely up to the voter. That being said, because we have Puckett Silver Slugger Awards for hitting excellence and Zimmer Awards for fielding excellence, I've always thought of the Silk as an "all-around value" award. "Most Valuable" are good descriptive words.

Should we consider a name change?

just realizing that eng-hee kin wasn't on the Gillstrom ballot, and that's a bummer. 4.9 WAR!

Cutting the HR rate nearly in half going from the GBC to the BBA is a heckuva trick.
