You can pretend like it's not a big change.
I think it's a change for the worse.
That, said, I shall never mention or comment on it again.
I'm over it.
Peace.
What about the change concerns you that you think its a change for the worse? Your 100% entitled to your opinion, and should feel comfortable expressing it here. If we know your thoughts behind why you feel that way perhaps we could help ease your concerns.
As mentioned earlier, people can still do it if they want to. The goal, i believe was to help make one of the legacy (more time consuming) parts of TN requirements easier on the GMs. In the end, the larger goal would be to get them to produce more content, history for their teams and the league.
As a league i think its good that from time to time we go back and review the charter and modify when the GB feels it would be in the best interest of the league. When the decision was made by the GB, it was not done w/out a lot of thought.
Being the newest member of the GB, I was able to read/participate in these discussions. Part of the conversation was that we felt that all of us within the league are familiar enough with Stats+ / HTML reports to locate said player / team if we wanted to.
For me, if someone writes a TN about Dennis French or Wullenweber I know who they are, they are ubiquitous so I wouldn’t include a link. But if it was somone new, their first mention etc, i would do a link. Thats just my thoughts, and i think that was the spirit of the rule.
Each GM has their own unique style of creating content for the league and their team, and where forcing everyone into one style (i.e. mandatory player link), could curb creativity.
As a wise GM once said remember above all “Have Fun”
