Deleón Bounced, Montreal Looks for New Skipper: It came as no surprise when Raúl Deleón was fired from his post as the manager of the Montreal Blazers, not even for the man himself.

Speaking to reporters minutes after being informed of his termination, Deleón said, "It's no big shock I guess, but it still hurts. Nobody ever likes to be told they can't do a job they love anymore."

Deleón was a fan favorite and much-heralded for being a player's manager, team general manager DeSpain said. "At the end of the day baseball is about what happens between the lines. We'd love to have kept a quality baseball man like Raúl in the Montreal organization, but he felt it was better to move on."

This week Diesel Dave, catcher for the Riyadh Red Crescents, hit everything in sight to win the Burt League Player of the Week trophy.

He rattled fences and pitchers as he banged out a .500 average and .500 on-base percentage. Dave logged 11 hits in 22 at-bats, 4 home runs, 10 RBIs, no walks and scored 8 times.
