Reminder: Budget/Season Ticket Oddness Coming
This may not matter to some teams, depending...but I'm going to remind everyone so it doesn't take folks by too much surprise.
Since OOTP v22 changed the season ticket sales algorithm to have teams sell less season tickets and more at the gate (thereby making the gate sharing algorithm more powerful), and since Matt altered the process last year by manually adding both season ticket sales and revenue, there is a high likelihood your teams will run into this process this season. YS0 wasn't affected by the manual changes last year, so assuming I'm right I'll have a more normal process this year...what this means, however, is this:
1) You will probably see a fairly significant reduction in season tickets against your owner's expectation.
2) Therefore, come January (or whenever) you can expect your owner will cut your budget.
3) Depending on the specifics, this could mean you will have difficulties signing players (FAs/Extensions) until the budget rises...
4) Which it will as your increased gate numbers come in over the season. (i.e. your projected budget for out seasons will rise as the season goes along.
This means that some of you may struggle to sign FA this off-season, and need to delay signing extensions until considerably late into the season.
YMMV.
Etc, etc.

Yikes. Budget already got slashed $6M. Another cut would be kinda brutal.

Re: Reminder: Budget/Season Ticket Oddness Coming
For those of us that waited until the owner set the budget then used ppt to get budget / cash in line again. You saying hes gonna cut me again? If he does will my ppt i already spent be just reaaplied to what same values to re-adjust again? Or will my PPT just be pee-pee in the wind?

Re: Reminder: Budget/Season Ticket Oddness Coming
In my opinion, it just depends on where those season ticket sales wind up. The PPT bump you've given yourself is helping you right now. So if it means you sign someone now before your owner clamps down (assuming he does), then it was useful. Otherwise, yes, it's PP in the wind.CTBrewCrew wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 11:27 pmFor those of us that waited until the owner set the budget then used ppt to get budget / cash in line again. I called this a reminder because we talked about it publicly before.

We aren't as gentle as the lady in Portland here in Madison when it comes to "fixing" our budget/cash issues...
