I had Patterson at the top of my draft list but decided to go with Seymour as a potential replacement for Zalapa next year.
I loved Seymour... if he had more ability to play up the middle in the infield, I would have nabbed him for sure...

Life is a bit more beautiful when time is measured by the half inning rather than the half hour.

I'm gonna try him at second the rest of this minor league season and spring training and see where his rating is.

Oh, so the rich get richer. I had had my eye on a player for more than a dozen picks in the second round: CF Jared Boll. Then, just a few picks before mine, New Orleans picked him up.

Oh, New Orleans, you are so strong in your minors already, did you have to go and do this to get even stronger? I tell you, some teams think only of themselves... ;-)

Bad Jim -

i was strongly debating between Boll and Kane O'Brien (who went the next pick to Omaha). I kept going back and forth. I liked O'Brien at Catcher. But Ultimatly I decided at age 21, and with Tatlock in the minors, my bets were better with a good fielding CF who can run. As strong as my minor league system is - im relatively weak in the OF.

I kept looking at Tatlock vs Kane and thinking - other than defense - is there really that much difference? Really got me thinking on Kane.. If Kane was 18...i might have gone a differnet direction.

- Good Jim

If y'all are going to do this all throughout the chatter I won't need to write my second draft article at all.

Nah, that's a lie. I'd probably do it anyway. More juicy PPT.

Full disclosure: Boll was my last cut at #33.

Speaking of last cuts, I torn torn between Kidd and Adkins, I really like that pick.

Second draft article is up. Teaching is hard, but Spring Break is not.
