Louisville's Browning Down with Injury
When James Browning was hurt against the Chicago Black Sox, the Louisville Sluggers were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 24-year-old starting pitcher suffered shoulder inflammation throwing a pitch in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Browning would miss 2-3 months of the season.
This year Browning has posted a record of 15 wins and 2 losses with a 2.29 ERA. He has appeared in 25 games and struck out 164 in 149.1 innings.

River Monsters Dominate, Sweep Geoghegan Round
The Twin Cities River Monsters are on to the Doubleday Series after a convincing series win over the Omaha Cyclones.
Twin Cities wrapped up the series sweep with a 6-3 win in the last game, to take the series 3-0.
"We expected to win and we executed the way we needed to," said Francisco Arredondo, who was named series MVP.
For the series, Arredondo hit .500 with a .462 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 3 runs.

Spuds Cruise to Doubleday Series with Sweep
The Boise Spuds had all facets of their game going and have swept the Calgary Pioneers in the Geoghegan Round.
Boise now heads off to the Doubleday Series, after wrapping up the series with a 10-3 win.

Brooklyn Moves on to Doubleday Series
All playoffs end with joy on one side and despair on the other. Today, the Brooklyn Robins are the ones feeling overwhelmed with excitement, and the Montreal Blazers are the ones thinking about what they could have done differently.
The Robins took a 6-4 victory at McDermott Park at Ebbets Field today, which gave Brooklyn a 3-1 series win.
With the win, Brooklyn will advance to play in the Doubleday Series.
"We aren't ready to go home yet," said Robins left fielder Felipe Vega, who was named series MVP.

In an exciting Geoghegan Round that had its fair share of drama and intrigue, perhaps it is Brewster Baseball Association fans who have come out the winner.
But on the field, the winners were the Louisville Sluggers, who edged the Chicago Black Sox 3-2 to advance to the Doubleday Series.
Louisville won the final game by a 7-2 count to wrap up the series. Luis Mendoza earned series MVP honors, by hitting .318 with a .400 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 6 runs.

Mumbai Advances to United Cup
The Mumbai Metro Stars are bound for the United Cup.
A 4-3 win over the Bucharest Impalers at Ballpark of Mumbai ended the Round of Four, 4-1.
"We're not trying to get ahead of ourselves, but it's hard not to get pumped up and excited and think about how this season could end," said Carlos Reyes. "This could be the biggest celebration Mumbai has ever seen if we can win the United Cup."
The state of the Unified Middle East Baseball Association championship remains in doubt, but the Metro Stars certainly appear to be strong contenders.
Reyes was named MVP of the Round of Four after he posted a .533 batting average, while adding 3 home runs, driving in 5 RBI and scoring 6 runs.
The Mumbai Metro Stars don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Beirut Cedars - Manama Pearls series. Beirut leads the series 3 games to 2. The United Cup is scheduled to begin on October 8th, 2045.

The Manama Pearls and Beirut Cedars didn't hold back anything in the Round of Four, with each team pulling out all the stops in an effort to advance to the United Cup.
Manama won the final game by a score of 4-3 at Manama Fields and that concluded the series, 4-3.
"Relief is the biggest thing," Manama first baseman Mario Guerrer said when asked how he felt. "It's a grind both mentally and physically to have a long series like this, but our guys stuck with it and Beirut deserves credit for the hard fight."
