Gamblers End Uribe's Streak
It was a doubly miserable day today for Júlio Uribe of the Jacksonville Hurricanes, as he saw his 32-game hitting streak end and his team lose 10-6 to the Atlantic City Gamblers at Trump Park. The 24-year-old left fielder was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Gamblers.

"Anyone on a 32-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Atlantic City manager Bruce Frank said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done."

In this current campaign Uribe is hitting at a .325 clip with 7 home runs and 38 RBIs.

Diesel Dave of the Omaha Cyclones has just enjoyed one of the better weeks of his career. That fact was not lost on Frick League officials, who named him Player of the Week.

Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers Mathematically Out of Playoffs
Did anyone think the Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers had a chance at the postseason this year? It was already quite unlikely, and now even the smallest hopes have been dashed -- the team was mathematically eliminated from postseason contention today.

This is the 3rd time in a row that the Hebrew Hammers have missed the playoffs.Their last payoff appearance was in 2042.Jerusalem last won the United Cup in 2040.

Pearls Clinch Playoff Spot With Victory
Today, Manama have officially claimed a spot in this year's postseason. The team punched their playoff ticket with a win yesterday. "I couldn't be prouder of this team," said skipper, Dave Schroeder. "These guys worked their tails off all season long, so they've definitely earned this." However, the Pearls manager says he won't let his team rest on their laurels. "We've still got a long way to go to reach our ultimate goal and that's a championship trophy. So we're gonna celebrate and just let this all sink in tonight, but it's back to work tomorrow."

Playoff Bound: Manama Secures Wild Card
The Manama Pearls clubhouse turned into a celebration zone tonight as the team marked the occasion of officially having qualified for the playoffs.

"That's what it's all about," said a jubilant Santiago Zúñiga, before going off to celebrate with his teammates.

At a record of 85-46, the franchise will be trying to have their regular season success translate to the 2nd Unified Middle East Baseball Association championship for the franchise.
