Chicago Commercial Pulled Off the Air
It seems that members of the Chicago Black Sox should perhaps stick to baseball.
The club had shot a series of light-hearted commercials to promote their upcoming season, but they have now been pulled off the local network, as the club didn't feel they were resonating with fans.
"It was fun while it lasted," said Amayas Moelling. "I like my time as a TV star."
Ángel Díaz, who was featured prominently in the commercials playing tricks on his teammates, said he was disappointed in the news.
"I guess I'll just have to keep my pranks for the clubhouse," he said.

Mobley Rumored to be Dating Olympian
Nick Mobley of the Jacksonville Hurricanes is reportedly keeping company with Olympic athlete Chelsey Sasaki. The couple has been spotted recently at various clubs, concerts, and restaurants, as well as a number of public functions. Asked whether the two were involved romatically, Mobley said he and Sasaki were 'just good friends'. "We're just hanging out and enjoying each other's company at the moment," said the 27-year-old starting pitcher. However, when pressed as to whether their relationship might become more serious in the future, Mobley seemed to dodge the question. "Right now, I'm really just focused on baseball and helping the Jacksonville Hurricanes win games," he remarked, with a sly grin.

It seems that members of the Chicago Black Sox should perhaps stick to baseball.
The club had shot a series of light-hearted commercials to promote their upcoming season, but they have now been pulled off the local network, as the club didn't feel they were resonating with fans.
"It was fun while it lasted," said Amayas Moelling. "I like my time as a TV star."
Ángel Díaz, who was featured prominently in the commercials playing tricks on his teammates, said he was disappointed in the news.
"I guess I'll just have to keep my pranks for the clubhouse," he said.

So I'm pretty sure that I figured out what happened to bonus cash. IFA happened to bonus cash.
If you sign ANYONE in IFA the amount is immediately doubled and thus is the demise of bonus cash.

ya for some reason 5m seems to be the new minimum in IFA vs 1m previously (I noticed this last year as well). We did see a big jump in the dollars people spent on IFA last, but I think that has to do with the quality of IFA players last year (and this) than anything else. The "Tax" of $5M (rather than $1M) actually results in cheaper bidding. I mean, if I bid $20M on a guy previously, it really cost $39M, whereas in today's world it comes in at $35M.
I also think we see a jump in what people are spending overall because more GMs are getting "smarter" (???) about what it means to just throw money into the drink.That doesn't _really_ impact bonus cash directly, but it can influence it. Unless I'm planning to build a stadium, my personal goal with bonus cash is merely to have something more than zero. There may be other reasons to worry about it, though. I'm just not really focused on them.

Unless I'm missing something, you can still sign players for under $5M--just like you could sign players for under $1M in the past). If you can get them to agree to sign at that range, the tax does not kick in. Like I said, I think the big difference is that in years where there are a lot of good IFA, BBA teams drop boatloads of cash. In years where there are not many, not many teams spend.
