Division Remains Up for Grabs, but Atlantic City in Postseason: The Atlantic City Gamblers are heading to the postseason. The fate of the Johnson League Atlantic Division still remains to be decided, but Atlantic City has now mathematically played themselves into a playoff position.

No Late-Season Magic Coming: Mexico City Out of Playoffs: It's a "gut-wrenching feeling," Mexico City Aztecs catcher Hsin Mei said, for the team to have gotten so close to a playoff berth, only to be eliminated in the waning days of the season. The club was officially eliminated from the postseason chase today.

Before this season, the Aztecs last missed the playoffs in 2041. In the 48 years they have been a Brewster Baseball Association franchise, they have missed the playoffs 29 times. In the last 10 years, they have missed the playoffs 4 times.

Pikemen Clinch Wild Card: While the winners of the wild card are never considered favorites to win the Landis Memorial Series, that's not the way Danny Leach sees things.

"I think we've got the best chance to win the championship, because I know how good we are and I know how good we can be when we play well," the closer said after his team clinched a wild card berth. "I wouldn't want to play us in the playoffs - I'll put it that way."

Whether it's simply bravado, or a sign of things to come, Rockville will be heading into the playoffs seeking the 5th Brewster Baseball Association championship in team history.

Charm City Narrowly Wins Johnson League Atlantic Division: The owner of the Charm City Jimmies called it a "proud day" for his franchise.

"Any time you win a division, it's a special accomplishment," said Stan McLain. "I couldn't be happier to be associated with this group of players."

The Jimmies have in fact wrapped up the Johnson League Atlantic Division and starting pitcher Feliciano Rafael said the team is looking forward to the postseason.

"It's what you play for, the chance to win a Landis Memorial Series," he said. "Our guys know what's at stake and what this means for our team and city."

The club has a record of 97-66 and have secured the 2nd division championship in franchise history. The Jimmies will be looking for their 1st Brewster Baseball Association championship.

Bosphorus Win Tight Burt League Race: It's a good day to be a fan of the Istanbul Bosphorus, as the club has won the Burt League - by the slimmest of margins.

"It makes it that much sweeter to win the thing by only a game," said right fielder Sadaharu Oh III. "It easily could have gone the other way, but we're all happy that wasn't the case."

Bosphorus players stayed in the clubhouse late into the night celebrating the victory, which was earned on the strength of the team's 97-65 record. It is the 2nd Burt League title in Bosphorus history.

Istanbul will now be vying for its 3rd Unified Middle East Baseball Association championship.

Pearls Come up Short of Playoffs: Manama Pearls manager Roger Brown said his players are "devastated" to have missed the playoffs. Today it became official -- the club has run out of games and was mathematically eliminated from qualifying for a spot in the postseason.

This is the 2nd time in a row that the Pearls have missed the playoffs.Their last payoff appearance was in 2041.
