Charlotte Cougars Mathematically Out of Playoffs
Many Charlotte Cougars fans have already turned their attention to next season, and with good reason. Even with a good chunk of the schedule still left to play, the club was mathematically eliminated from playoff contention today.

It has been a woeful season for the Portland Lumberjacks and now they have been officially eliminated from playoff contention.

"You always need some things to break your way to get into the playoffs," said manager Pedro Medina. "And nothing broke our way this year."

It's back to the drawing board for the Seattle Storm. The club's efforts at building a championship contender fell short this year, as the team was officially eliminated from playoff contention today.

This is the club's 4th playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 2038. In the last 10 seasons, the Storm have missed the playoffs 7 times. In total, the Storm have missed the playoffs 30 times in their 47-year history.

Sluggers Clinch Playoff Spot With Victory
Today, Louisville have officially claimed a spot in this year's postseason. The team punched their playoff ticket with a win yesterday. "I couldn't be prouder of this team," said skipper, Waldemar Buddenberg. "These guys worked their tails off all season long, so they've definitely earned this." However, the Sluggers manager says he won't let his team rest on their laurels. "We've still got a long way to go to reach our ultimate goal and that's a championship trophy. So we're gonna celebrate and just let this all sink in tonight, but it's back to work tomorrow."

Division Remains Up for Grabs, but Yellow Springs in Postseason
There's reason to celebrate in Yellow Springs tonight. The Yellow Springs Nine are heading for the postseason.

With time ticking down on the season, the Nine have secured their spot in this year's playoffs, with a record of 95-50.
